If anyone would be
interested in becoming a Wed-
ding Hostess and learning the
process for weddings, please
contact Vicki Sheets. If a cou-
ple of others would want to
shadow Vicki this year, then
the process could be rotated.
That way if
anyone needed to be gone,
there would still be someone
around to be the Wedding
Hostess when needed.
Thank you!
Have you been wondering what’s happened with Joy Group? Here is the “Rest of the Story.”
After considerable discussion in October and November, 2016, Joy Group was dissolved on Novem-ber 22nd, 2016 by a vote of members present.
Joy Group Treasurer and CWF/DWF Treasurer, Vi Black, was requested to dispose of both financial funds in the following manner:
From CWF/DWF: Give New Day Group $500; Send Colorado Christian Home (Tennyson Children’s Cen-ter) $100; Send Newton’s Kansas Christian Home $100.
From Joy Group’s Blessings Boxes: Send Kans for Kids $126.99 and Give Family Crisis Center $126.99.
Whatever was left from Joy Group funds and CWF/DWF went to Church’s Roofing Fund. $1,409.77 was given.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make the Valentine’s Din-ner and Talent Show a success! All of your help was greatly appreciated! A very special thanks to Julie Ford for the decorations, and to our awesome stage and sound man, John Sheets. The eve-ning was filled with fun and fellowship, and $1326 was raised for the roof fund. Keep up the contributions to this worthy cause so that we won’t find ourselves Singing in the Rain! Mary Hunter

Just a quick note to Thank
You all for the donation made
after your garage sale last week.
Our Thrift Store very much appre-
ciates the support as do all of the
volunteers who help out there.

Dear First Christian Church Members: Thank you so much for your generosity in helping to collect items for the Boxes of Love. These boxes will go to home-bound seniors. To see the room loaded with so many wonderful items, just shows what a fantastic and caring community we all live in. Each one of these boxes will mean so much to a senior who, some days, only see one person that delivers a hot meal or comes to check on their meds. It tells these seniors that they have not been forgotten and that we care about them. Even the children and students took part as they created special art for each recipient. Thank you for making someone’s Valentine’s Day extra special. Sincerely, Linn Hogg, Director RSVP/Volunteers in Action

agreements for this year.
Property: Kenny Reneau reported on the termite damage suffered in the kitchen. He made a motion to
approve the bids we received to repair this damage. After questions were answered, the motion was
approved. Roof update – raised $26,219, Goal is $70,000. Work this last Saturday to clean up the
fallen limbs from the ice storm. Looking into recessing the AED box in the hallway so that it is safer for
people walking by. John sheets requested to rent a scissor lift to change some lights in the sanctuary and
in the youth room – the cost $125. Motion was approved. Housing allowance for Pastor Josh at $12,000
a year, and Pastor Sue at $11,000 was approved until changes are made by the board at a later date. Mo-
tion was made to sell long wooden tables. Motion was approved. Motion was made to give the money
raised though the Garage Sale to the Barton County Food Bank, Boxes of Love, and the place where the
kids are going on their mission trip this year. Motion was approved.
Christian Education: Rev. Sue stated that the Christmas program was a success this year with more in
attendance than last year. The Christian Education Committee is looking into possibly moving this pro-
gram because of the busyness of the Christmas season.
Pastoral Relation: Nels reported we are still looking for a Chair of this committee.
New Service Committee: Pastor Leu gave a presentation to the Board about the work of this committee
in the last 8 months, pointing out that many people have already stepped up to give above and beyond
their tithe to make this service a reality, and that we possibly have a talented couple who would be inter-
ested in leading this service. A motion was made to move this committee from exploratory to a com-
mittee who has the authority to make this service happen under the guidance of the Board. Motion was
approved.
Elders Report: No Report
Deacons Report: Donna Marston's training for the deacons was done last week, and the 2017 sched-
ule should be done in the next week.
Pastors Report: Rev Josh reported that he feels that we had another successful year, and is very ex-
cited about what God is going to be doing in the year to come. He thanked those who stepped up to the
plate to help in leadership, reminding them it is not a burden but a privilege and honor to work for the
Creator of the Universe through this church.
Rev. Sue Bishop reported on all of the help that the church has given people in need in the last month,
and how she is going to be having a procedure done on February 7th.
Old Business: Continue to work on designing T-Shirts for the congregation. Reminder that Pastor
Josh is wanting to buy a house and move out of the Parsonage. Decided to put the Gideon’s presenta-
tion off until we are able to finish raising money for the roof, and get our new service up and running.
New Business: Thank you from Kathy, Pat, Sue, and Josh for Christmas gifts from the church.
Discussion: Looking into policies for people borrowing things from the church.

Dear Partner,
In 2016—just one year’s time—your support enabled people in Africa to bring clean and living water
to communities in 16 countries. That’s amazing! On behalf of all of them, and all of us at our home
base in Oklahoma City, thank you.
Here are just a few highlights of that transformation:
690 new water projects pumping clean water
172,854 people no longer at risk of dying from waterborne disease
44 drilling teams are growing their businesses and expanding their reach
171,554 individuals trained in life-saving sanitation and hygiene practices
350 well drillers, welders, geological surveyors, day laborers, accountants, managers and
more working day-in and day-out to eradicate the water crisis through local enterprises
As you can see, your support is propelling exceptional men and women in missional enterprises all
over the world to solve their own crisis in their lifetime. Thank you for your vision and generosity,
and thank you for being on our team.
