I was shocked when Curtis called. Though I had not seen her recently, Georganne had emailed me a couple of weeks ago with the following message, I “attended” the women’s Bible study on Wednesday evening — by Zoom. Later I watched Wednesday evening prayer service and appreciated it very much. Thank you for continuing to stream that service and to provide it as a video. “I thank my God every time I remember you.” - Georganne /Mom / Gigi Her taking the time to reach out was in keeping with her sweet spirit. Since Georganne and Curtis joined our church family several years ago, Georganne was a faithful member. When able, she was here. When needed, she stepped up and blessed us with her incredible musical talent. Whenever I preached, she always seemed to go out of her way to encourage me. And when Curtis’ schedule caused them to be one of the last ones out of the building - which was often, she never complained. That was just who she was. Karen Shiver told me she recently met Georganne through a Zoom study and during that time together Georganne shared her great love for Curtis, and told everyone how he took wonderful care of her. That was true. Curtis took care of her, and she took care of Curtis. They were truly one. They lived, ministered, and touched the Kingdom of God together that way. Georganne and Curtis have a son, Winston. A couple of years ago Georganne and Curtis moved to Snellville to be closer to Winston and his family. Hence the “Mom” and “Gigi” signature above. I am thankful for the time they were able to spend together. As you may have read in Curtis’ email earlier this week, Winston spent Sunday morning with Georganne while Curtis was leading us in worship. Surely their time together was a gift from our Lord. On Saturday morning the family will gather by Georganne’s graveside to thank God for the gift of her life. In the midst of their grief they will hold onto and be held by the hope that we have in Jesus. For at the center of Georganne’s life was a deep and abiding love for her Savior. It is true, we do not grieve as those who have no hope. We will mourn Georganne’s passing as we cling to the promise of the resurrection. Because He lives, we believe Georganne continues to live as well! Senior Pastor

This past Sunday evening Georganne Murdock passed away unexpectedly. I was shocked when Curtis called. Though I had not seen her recently, Georganne had emailed me a couple of weeks ago with the following message,

I “attended” the women’s Bible study on Wednesday evening — by Zoom. Later I watched Wednesday evening prayer service and appreciated it very much. Thank you for continuing to stream that service and to provide it as a video.“I thank my God every time I remember you.” - Georganne /Mom /Gigi

Her taking the time to reach out was in keeping with her sweet spirit.
