Members and Friends,
I hope everyone is doing well out there in Elkdom. One of the greatest rewards of being an Elk is the caring and protective feelings we have for each member. There are times during our lives something comes along and kicks our legs from beneath us, but there are always members that will stand up, grab you by the arm and make sure you’re okay until you’re back on your feet again. Thank goodness we have our Elk Family and so many members who care.
We had a very successful Visitation on October 10th and I want to thank everyone who contributed and participated. I want to thank Patti Scheschuk (Treasurer),Ginger Sweatt (Secretary), Kim Shingledecker (Chairman of the Board of Directors), Ron Goluba PER, Vivian Thomas PER, Matt Krohn (Chaplain), Colleen Gallant PDDGER and Dick Bardsley PDDGER for their guidance and support and for working so hard to make our Audit, Inspection and Visitation a success. A special mention of thanks to the kids of Cub Scout Pack 31 for Presenting The Colors and leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank you to the Winter Park High School Tennis Team for being our Servers, arranged by Terri Bentley, Lecturing Knight. A big thank you to all of our Lodge Members who were our Volunteer Kitchen Helpers. Thank you to Barbra Rozanski, Nadine Harden, Patti & Rob Scheschuk, Linda Shingledecker, Rick & Sandy Wirth and our Bartender Michelle Turner as the Greeters to all of our Guests and for selling the Dinner & Raffle Tickets. A special thank you to Sue Jovi for her wonderful skills in decorating and for donating the Lobby, Lounge, Tea Room and Dining Room “Fall Decorations” & the Raffle Basket to the Lodge, for donating and setting up the morning snacks for the Audit Team & VIP’s, and for donating the VIP pins & beautiful Fall Mum Plants that were given to each of our VIP Guests and Speakers as a “Thank You Gift”. We had 60+ of our own members and another 40 visitors from 6+ Lodges. A special thank you once again to Chef Tom for the Happy Hour hors d’oeuvres and for serving over 85+ delicious Pasta & Meatballs Dinners. I personally think we will have the best looking facility, the best dinner and the best turnout of the yearly Lodge Visitations!
By the time you read this the South Lake visit will have been completed and the Apopka visit is on October 31. Our final visitation is at Ocala Lodge #286 on November 14th. Come and join us for a good meal and great friendship. We have many great events in store for you in November. The Fall Walk-a-
Exalted Ruler’s Message Thon, Veteran's Day Brunch, Elk's Draw Down, Kim & Linda’s Thanksgiving Dinner (get your Tickets early), the Elk's Gift Exchange, Dancer's Night Out and don't forget we have Live Bands at our every Friday Night Dinner Dance.
Our National Elk's Foundation does so many great things. That's why I'm a member of the Fidelity Club. For as little as $20 a month you to can be a Fidelity Club Honored Member. You will receive a special sticker for your membership card and a Pin for your lapel. If I see you are wearing a Fidelity Pin on Friday Night I'll buy you a drink to say thank you!
Speaking of PINS! Our beautiful and unique Winter Park Elks Lodge Pin will now be on sale! I hope every Lodge Member will proudly wear our Lodge Pin! Thank you again to Ron Goluba, Sue Jovi and the artistic design by Paul Neumann. We already have an Elk from California who wants us to mail him our Pin!
The Holidays are upon us and it is going to be a wonderful and joyful time to get together here at our Lodge with your Family and Friends! Please be safe out there!!
Fraternally,
Bill William Belcher, PER
Elk of the Month
Elk of the Month for November is Ron Cunningham.
Ron has been a hard working contributing member for as long as the building has been in Winter Park, and I really mean contributing. Any time there is a job that needs to done, painting, cleaning gutters, pressure washing, washing dishes, no matter how dirty or tough, he is there, no excuses.
Have you noticed how clean and white our Elk's concrete platform is? Yea, that's Ron's doing, nobody had to ask him. He just sees something that needs to be done around the Lodge and he's right on it. Ron you are a true friend of our Elk's Lodge,
Thank you so much Ron. Enjoy your parking spot.

Drove Ladies meet Jordon at Kids House of Seminole County
Pictured above are (l-r) Barbee Bray, Patty Hanson and Candy Nadeau and in front Jordon. Jordon is a Courthouse Facility Dog that provides emotional support. A big part of her job is to help kids find their voice - sometimes that’s so they can talk about what happened to them during a forensic interview, sometimes it’s part of building self-
esteem and self-confidence in therapy, and sometimes it’s so they can testify in court. Visit Jordan’s Facebook page (Jordon's Journal) to learn of her adventurers if your interested!

Does’ Corner
Dear Does,
What a fun Oktoberfest celebration. Starting with a biergarten in the tea room with pretzels, music by Ken Doster and prizes. Then moving to the Dining Room for wonderful food, music by Thru the Years and German
Dancers. The winners of the raffle baskets were Barbee Bray and Denise Hinkey. Congratulations to both. I cannot express my gratitude enough for all the volunteers for decorating, cooking, and cleaning up. With all the help the Oktoberfest was a big success. There were witches, goblins, and ghosts at the Does Pancake Breakfast. There were goblin soups, pumpkin goodies and ghostly desserts. It was a ghostly fun morning. Thanks to all of the goblins that volunteered. This month we will have back to back meetings due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Nominations and Elections of New Drove Officers for 2022 will be at our Formal meeting on November 10th. If you would like to become an officer, plan on continuing as an officer or would like to serve as a committee chairperson please let me know. This is a good way to get involved and to get to know your fellow Does. Reminder! The Does First Homemade Cake and Pie Auction is Sunday, November 21st from 3:00-6:00pm. You know those bakery items that you dreamed of making and never had the time; they might be at the auction. Everything will be homemade by Does, Elks and Friends. The Auction Bidding Paddles are $5.00 each. You can sign up and pay for your bidding paddle at the bar or the day of the Auction. Cash or check only please. Your actual Bidding Paddle will be handed out half an hour before the Auction starts. Our Auctioneer will be Beth Abramson. This is a good way to get out of baking for the holidays. So please come join us for this fun new event. Our next Ways and Means meeting will be Wednesday, November 3rd at 6:00pm. ALL DOES ARE WELCOME. We need your help in planning our events for 2022. The Holiday season is upon us and there are lots of fun events planned at the Lodge. Hope to see you them.
Kindness never goes unnoticed.

Now that the weather has cooled a little, why not lace up your walking shoes and join other 1830 Elks for our Fall Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, Nov. 6th at 9:00am, or please sponsor one of those “walking” as all money raised stays right here and benefits our Lodge!
Make sure you mark Friday, Nov. 19th on your calendar as our Friday Night Dinner will have a “Country” theme complete with Chef Tom’s awesome ribs on the menu.
We would love to see some new faces at our “Elktivities Meetings” that are held the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 7:00 pm at the Lodge. Feel free to stop by and check us out!
