NEW YORK-It doesn’t get any sweeter thanthis, for Cartaesha Macklin.
Macklin, a senior point guard at Lafayette,was named one of 40 players nationally to the35th Annual Parade Magazine All-AmericanHigh School Girls Basketball team.
She joins Amber Henson (Tampa Sickles)and Kaneisha Wheeler (Westwood) as the onlyathletes from Florida named to the team.
The team came out May 15 and featuredplayers from Arizona, Minnesota, Maryland,North Carolina, West Virginia, Pennsylvania,New Jersey, Mississippi, Utah, Alaska, Indi-ana, California, Kentucky, Michigan, Virginia,

FFA Degree at the 83rd NationalFFA Convention, held in Indi-anapolis.
The award is given to those
who advance agricultural educa-tion and FFA through outstand-ing personal commitment.
Lyons is a former vocationaleducation teacher and FFA Advi-sor. He has judged many stateand national events and is astrong supporter of the local FFAchapter. Lyons, his wife Louisa,son Chad, and daughter Tori areall past recipients of the Ameri-can FFA Degree. Chad and Tori
are past Florida State FFA offi-cers.
