Be transported by internationally-inspired toe-tapping, hip-swinging, pulse-racing music and dance with the �� series. Tabla phenomenon Zakir Hussain, a leader in the world music movement, will perform with Niladri Kumar, a young sitar virtuoso who plays the zitar (a fi ve-stringed electric sitar of his own invention) NOV 1.

Folk, funk, gospel and bluegrass music will pluck at your heartstrings in the �� series, with performers from a cross-section of American

musical history. The Time Jumpers –featuring Vince Gill, Kenny Sears, Ranger Doug Green and Paul Franklin – will bring together some of country music’s great contributors; their weekly performances in Nashville have become the stuff of legends, SEP 29.

Big thinkers will share big ideas, literally from around the world, in the ��series. In the run-up to the presidential election, Global thinker, columnist and CNN host Fareed Zakaria will provide key insights into this historic race in his lecture Election 2016: A View from Home and Abroad.

Laughs will get cookin’ when jokesters in the �� series break out their comedy chops. In his Santa Barbara debut, podcasting genius and star of his own IFC show Marc Maron will bring his uniquely fascinating, absolutely compelling and brutally funny comedy to new levels in an evening of standup.

In the �� series, young superstars and established heavy-hitters will perform in America’s quintessential music tradition. Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will be back by popular demand to kick off the series.

The wildly popular �� series will return to UCSB Campbell Hall with dynamic events, fascinating people, and captivating stories. This year’s multimedia presentations will include wildlife fi lmmaker Bob Poole, documenting the rebirth of a lost Eden in Paradise Reborn: Mozambique’s Gorongosa National Park.
