Servicevocational Rehabilitation Service is a state

and federally funded employment program for peoplewith disabilities. We are committed to providingquality rehabilitation services and customer satis­faction. Our services will prepare and train you tobecome a qualified job applicant. We will help youfind the best job for your interests, skills andabilities. This brochure answers some of the mostfrequently asked qucstions about Vocational Reha­bilitation.lfyou need additional information, pleasecontact your local Vocational Rehabilitation ortlce.

Referral and EligibilityAnyone can make a referral to Vocational

Rehabilitation Service. If you are referring some­one else, please provide the applicant's name, dis­abling condition and a means of contact.

Federal guidelines provide eligibility criterIafor Vocational Rehabilitation Service. To be eli­gible jar services, you muSf have a physical ormenfal impairmenf which results in a subsfanfialimpedimenf fa employmellf, and you must be ableto benefif from services in fernlS of becoming em­ployed.

People Servedv ocational Rehabilitation Service assists people

with a broad range of disabilities. Examples ofsome of the types of disabilities we serve include:blindness or other visual impairments, deafness orother auditory conditions, diabetic conditions, headinjury, mental/emotional problems, orthopedic im­pairments, renal disease, respiratory conditions,specific learning disabilities and alcohol/substanceabuse.

AcceptanceOnce you have been determined eligible for

Vocational Rehabilitation Service, you will:

• work with a rehabilitation counselor to choosean employment goal and plan your rehabili­tation program;

• work in planned steps toward your goal;

• receive appropriate services to develop workskills and prepare you for a job; and

• receive assistance in finding and keeping theright job.

Services OfferedVocational Rehabilitation Service staff work

with you to create an individualized rehabilita­tion program. Our services are based on yourneeds and choices and might include any com­bination of the following:
