A Christmas Carl

Chapter 1 The knocker

*-It was Christmas eve in London. The bells in the church were ringing all day long, the candles in the shop windows were lit and the people were walking quickly through the snow –covered streets.

*-Scrooge was very miser .He thought it was a waste of money to put more coal on the fire so the fire stayed small .

*-Scrooge called Christmas “Humbug "because he saw people spending more money than they had ,work stopping and money lost for a day that was just like any other day.

*-While he was in his office, a kind man in a black suit came into the shop asking for money for the poor but Scrooge said that people who are poor don’t have money because they never work .

*-He left his office and went home but suddenly the knocker of the door changed into the face of Jacob Marley his old partner .

poor or helped others so he had to travel the

earth as a ghost and see all the happiness he never cared about when he was alive .
