o Dysphasia:Impairmentofspeechduetobraindamage.o Dyspnea:Shortnessofbreatho Edema:Medicaltermforswellingorwhenbloodvesselsreleasefluidintonearbytissueso Embolus:Abloodclotthathasbeencarriedinthebloodstreamandeventuallylodgesinto

o Hemorrhage:Anescapeofbloodfromarupturedbloodvessel;rapid,uncontrollablelossofblood.• BrainHemorrhage:Localizedbleedinginthebrainduetotheburstingofanarteryin

thebrain.Thiscausesswellinginthebrainandincreasesthepressureinthebrain,whichkillsbraincells.

o Hydrocephalus:Abnormalaccumulationofcerebrospinalfluidinthebrainthatcausesittoswell.Itcanleadtobraindamageandphysical,developmental,andcognitiveimpairments.

o Hyperlipidemia:Highnumberoflipidsorfats,mostcommonlyreferredtoashighcholesterol

o Infarct:Anareaofdeadtissueresultingfromlackofbloodsupplyo IschemicStroke:Occurswhenbloodvesselsconnectedtothebrainarecloggedorblocked.

Aclotformsandblockstheflowofbloodtocertainareasofthebraincausingthestroketooccur.
