VMGSim OPC Client The new OPC Client and our existing OPC Server enables for rapid integration of VMGSim models in on-line applications. Now it is easier to link your model with other OPC compliant applications allowing you to extract more value from your model.

The OPC Client allows the user to read information from OPC Servers, process it at the flow-sheet level, and write back to OPC Servers. The OPC Client is supported in both the steady state and dynamics engines. The same case can contain multiple OPC Clients, which can read and write data to different OPC Servers.

New Unit Operations• Gibbs Reactor – No reactions

specifications required, direct solution using Gibbs free energy minimization.

• OPC Client –online connectivity with

external applications.Enhancements to Pipe Segment

• New Global Heat Loss Settings.• New Petalas/Oliemans two phase

mechanistic correlations.• The Outer Heat Transfer Coefficient now

includes built in ground and under water

convection correlations.

General Enhancements• Improved heuristics for default

initialization sets.• Entrainment calculations for separators.• HTC / dP Correlations for multisided

heat exchanger.• Pop and Proportional types

for relief valve.• Catalyst pressure drop correlations

for PFR.

Dynamics Dynamics in VMGSim 6.5 features both new unit operations and enhancements to existing models. The new OPC Client in conjunction with the existing OPC Server, extends the use of your VMGSim models beyond your desktop. With the OPC Client, dynamics simulations can easily be connected to a DCS using the OPC standard. Expand the benefits from your process model by deploying a dynamic model in applications such as operator trainers, soft sensors or on-line process monitoring.

Over 100 pages of engineering grade equipment data sheets are built-in to VMGSim 6.5. These data sheets provide the core of VMG’s flexible data sheet system that automates the creation, storage and publishing of data sheets thereby reducing engineering costs and avoiding expensive mistakes.

• Drive your models from the live data sheet interface.• A single click of the mouse will provide a formatted populated

datasheet in Excel.• Integrated to the Project Report system making it easy to publish

data sheets in bulk from your simulation.• VMGSim 6.5 allows you to create and import your

company’s customized Equipment Data sheets.
