• What’s an event? FCP X utilizes events so that users can import their iMovie events into the Storyline and begin editing. It also keeps track of all media that you import. Your event automatically save to your Movie folder on your computer.

• Be sure to click “Separate mono and group stereo audio” if using each track for different audio feed.

• Drag clips into storyline, can select drag and drop video only or audio only

• Easily create cross dissolves (A/V)

Audio

• Break apart audio

• Option + click on storyline for “faders” and drag the audio levels (“R”)

• Audio cross dissolves hold between 2 clips.

• Separating audio, “detach audio”

• Pan Modes: Surround Left, Audio Pan, Icon

• synchronizing clips, good for DSLR (must be some audio)

Color Matching Clips

• OPTION + COMMAND + M, chose the frame you want to change and then the frame you want it to look like. Apply. Notice it doesn’t make the raw footage sepia.

• First frame (original), Second (sepia to match), Third (result). Changes saturation and hue.
