In Germany, the Conflict Type (also called „Unfalltyp“ or Type of Accident) is i.a. used by the police for the codification of road traffic accidents. The conflict type is a generic description, including intended trajectories of involved road users, as well as infrastructure elements. It is not necessarly ODD-specific. E.g. a longitudinal traffic conflict, like 602, can be observed on highways as well as on rural roads. The conflict types specified in this document, can describe the great majority of all conflict situations, preceding any road traffic accident. The catalogue of conflict types can therefore be used to deliver a sound basis for the functional scenario repository. VMAD-SG1-12-04
