The models comprising the Soft Pad Group are suitable for many different spaces: in offices, conference and reception areas as well as in the home.
Sumo wrestler Jesse Takamiyama on the Soft Pad Chaise
Soft Pad Chaise
The Soft Pad Chaise was designed in 1968. Its gently curving form makes it ideally suited to short peri-ods of relaxation in the office or at home. Six cushions joined together by zip fasteners are attached to the aluminium frame, whilst two loose cushions enhance comfort.
Guarantee. In case of a fabrication error or material defect Vitra will replace or repair all chairs in the Soft Pad Group free of charge for a period of thirty years from the date of purchase (in accordance with the certificate of guarantee).
Charles & Ray Eames feature among the most impor-tant figures of twentieth century design. Their work is multi-faceted: they developed furniture, produced films and photographs, organised exhibitions and designed and built their own house as a pioneering endeavour.
Vitra has produced and marketed the furniture designs of Charles & Ray Eames since 1957. First producing under license, Vitra obtained exclusive rights to all Eames products for Europe and the Middle East in 1984. Consequently, we are the sole legitimate manufacturer of Eames designs in this part of the world. The brand gives you the security of owning an original product by Charles & Ray Eames.

The Soft Pad Chair was designed in 1969. Both its construction and design are identical to the Aluminium Chair. The attached padded sections form an interest-ing contrast to the elegant aluminium frame. The pads make the chair softer and more luxurious, without detracting from its transparency and clear lines.
Soft Pad Group Chairs Programme features

Side sections, flexible metal sections, armrests and base of polished or chrome-plated die-cast alu-minium. Upholstery: cushioned sections in nappa leath er, sewn onto the frame. Base available in four-star version, swivel or non-swivel, with glides for soft or hard floors. High-backed armchair EA 222 with tilting mechanism, with or without adjustment feature. Office chair EA 217 / EA 219 with adjustable tilting mechanism and locking feature in the foremost sitting position. Height-adjustable via pneumatic safety spring.
