Free energy from the sun

Solar energy doesn’t cost you athing – and it even works in our latitudes. All you need is a solarheating system with highly efficientcollectors and matching systemcomponents, like Viessmann solarheating systems. Such systems cansave 50 to 60% of the annual ener-gy requirement for DHW heating in detached and two-familyhomes. During the summer months,from May until August, the solarenergy is sufficient to cover almostall of the DHW requirement. In thetransitional months, solar energycan best be utilised to preheat the DHW, which can significantlyreduce oil or gas consumption.

For the environment

The future for the environment islooking brighter, too, because 3/4tonnes less carbon dioxide (CO2)per detached house is producedeach year using this system. As all Viessmann solar collectorsmeet the requirements of the ”BlueAngel” certificate of environmentalexcellence, according to RAL UZ73, things look better still. Highoperational reliability and a longservice life are of equal importance,and Vitosol collectors achieve thisthanks to corrosion resistant materials, such as aluminium, copper and stainless steel. Vitosol 300 is a high performancevacuum tube collector of the highest standard which operatesaccording to the heat pipe princi-ple. Not only is it suitable for DHWheating, but can also back-up yourcentral heating system.

With the heat pipe system, the solar transfer medium does not directly flow through the tube. Acarrier medium, which evaporateswith solar influence, circulatesthrough a special absorber, andtransfers the heat via a heatexchanger, to the solar medium.

Is there a better way to capture

solar energy?

Solar energy is transferred in thehighly effective “Duotec” doublepipe heat exchanger, which almostcompletely surrounds the conden-ser. The transfer is made in a drystate, i.e without direct contactwith the heat carrier medium. The heat exchanger offers high efficiency – even at low solar irradiation. Rotating the collectortubes enables optimum alignmentof the tubes to the sun – a furtherenhancement for solar utilisation.
