    Easy installation

    The Vitosol 100 is extremely easy toinstall. Its lightweight design (only 45kg / 99 lbs) makes for easytransportation onto the roof, andflexible connection pipes allow forfast assembly and installation. Up to12 collectors can be installed inseries. Durable mounting hardwareensures solid connection to flat orsloped roofs.

    Universal application

    With an absorber surface area of 2.3m2/25 ft.2 Vitosol 100 flat platecollectors can be adapted to fitvirtually any requirement. Twodifferent models allow for horizontal(model SH1) or vertical (model SV1)installation on flat and sloped roofs,or as a free-standing installation. Vitosol 100 flat plate collectors aregreat for domestic hot water heating,pool heating or as a space heatingsupplement.

  • The Vitosol 300 is a vacuum tubesolar collector with exceptional year-round performance. Due to theinsulating qualities of the vacuumtubes, this collector providesexcellent results especially in coldweather and windy conditions. Theintegrated stagnation protection alsomakes it your best choice for a spaceheating supplement system.

    Principle of operation

    The Vitosol 300 operates based onthe heat pipe principle. Solar energyis captured by the Sol-Titaniumcoated copper absorber in thevacuum tubes of the collector. Theenergy is then transported via theheat pipe to the double-pipe heatexchanger where it is transferred tothe solar fluid. The fluid thencirculates the solar energy to yourdomestic hot water storage tank.

    Patented Duotec heat exchanger

    The unique Duotec double-pipe heatexchanger of the collector almostcompletely surrounds the heat pipecondenser tip, ensuring the bestpossible heat transfer. A “dry” connection (i.e. withoutdirect contact to the solar fluid)transfers the solar energy from theheat pipe to the solar fluid. This ofcourse not only simplifies theinstallation process, but makes foreasy replacement of individual tubes -even when the system is filled andunder pressure.

    Easy installation and maintenance

    During installation, collectors areeasily connected in series withflexible connection pipes and quick-connect fittings. And thanks to the“dry” connection between heat pipeand solar fluid, individual vacuumtubes are easy to replace. Eachvacuum tube can also be rotated foroptimal alignment to the sun.

    No overheating

    A challenge for any solar system isperiods of sunshine with no heatconsumption - so-called stagnationperiods. The Vitosol 300 collectorcomes with an integrated temperaturelimiting thermal valve in thecondenser tip that prevents thesystem fluid from overheating duringstagnation periods.

    High-quality construction

    High-quality, corrosion-resistantmaterials, such as special hail-proofsolar glass, powder-coated aluminum,copper and stainless steel, guaranteereliable and efficient operation on aconsistently high level for as long as20 years or more.

    High-efficiency collection of solar energythanks to the heat pipe design, Sol-Titaniumcoated copper absorber and vacuum sealedglass tubes.

    Intensive heat transfer from the condenser tothe solar fluid is provided by the Duotecwrap-around pipe heat exchanger.

    A temperature limiting thermal valve in thecondenser tip prevents the system fluid fromoverheating during stagnation periods.

    Long service life and reliability thanks to theuse of durable, corrosion-resistant materialssuch as copper, impact-resistant solar glassand flexible stainless steel.

    Integrating a solar system

    There are two primary ways ofintegrating a solar system, dependingon the configuration of your domestichot water heating system:

    1. Solar retrofit preheat systemsWith a solar retrofit preheat system,solar is easily integrated into virtuallyany existing domestic hot waterheating system. This system uses asingle-coil solar tank connected to thecollectors. The collectors preheat thewater in the solar tank, which is thenfed into the existing hot water tankor instantaneous hot water heater.

  • 2. Single-tank systemsWhen integrating solar into a newhome, for example, a single-tanksystem is typically used. This systememploys a dual-coil tank where heatfrom the solar collector(s) istransferred to the domestic hot watervia the lower coil, and backup heat issupplied as required by a boiler viathe upper coil.
