WELCOME & GREETING Rev. Fred Baum
*OPENING HYMN “How Great Thou Art” No. 77
*CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 71:1-6
Leader: In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.
People: In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me; turn your ear to
me and save me.
Leader: Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to
save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.
People: Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp
of those who are evil and cruel.
Leader: For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my
youth.
All: Upon you I have leaned from my birth; it was you who took me
from my mother’s womb. My praise is continually of you!

PREPARATION FOR PRAYER No. 496
“Sweet Hour of Prayer”
CONFESSION OF SIN
Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, maker of all things, judge
of all people: We acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and
wickedness, which we from time to time most grievously have committed by
thought, word, and deed, against your divine majesty. We do earnestly
repent, and are heartily sorry for these our misdoings; the remembrance of
them is grievous to us. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most
merciful Father. For your Son our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, forgive us all
that is past; and grant that we many ever hereafter serve and please you in
newness of life, to the honor and glory of your name; through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.
DECLARATION OF FORGIVENESS
Leader: Hear what comfortable words the Scriptures say to all that truly turn to
the Lord: “If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will
forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” In the
name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
People: In the name of Jesus Christ you are forgiven!
All: Thanks be to God! Amen!!

*DOXOLOGY “Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow” No. 95
*PRAYER OF DEDICATION Rev. Fred Baum
GOSPEL LESSON Luke 11:1-4 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his
disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them, “When you pray, say:
“‘Father,[a]
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.[b] 3 Give us each day our daily bread. 4 Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.[c]
And lead us not into temptation.[d]’”
Leader: This is the word of God for the people of God. People: Thanks be to God!

Camera & Sound Operators Needed
Our team is growing but we can still use a couple more volunteers for our Sunday Live Streaming. We would like to build the team so that each of us only has to volunteer one time each month. And honestly, it isn’t that difficult to learn! Call the church office or see Pam Holder, Bill Daniels or Paul Oelrich for further information.
Vista STILL needs additional volunteers for Sunday lock up after Services.
If you can help, call Ken Podlasek @ 825-9140
A NEW VISTAS BUILDING CAMPAIGN CHALLENGE
Our New Vistas Building Campaign continues because of caring members. Recently a family gave an $11,000 contribution to cover the cost of landscaping for the new building in honor of the landscape crew.
One of our generous and loving families graciously offered to donate up to $12,000 by way of a matching gift challenge to complete the entrance portico, which totals $36,600.
As of last Sunday we are fully funded!!!
If we collect more than needed for the portico, it will go towards the nursery remodel.

The program follows a daily rhythm of worship, study, silence and covenant community designed by The Upper Room See https://academy.upperroom.org/). This year the Desert Southwest Conference is proud to offer a Five Day Academy at the Redemptorist Renewal Center near Tucson September 15-20, 2019. Interested persons should check out the website at www.az5dayacademy.org or contact Jerry Haas, retreat leader, at [email protected] or our very own Gail Parson at [email protected] or (520)-275-7117.
