Visitor Visa Checklist
Apply for a Visitor Visa if you are travelling to Nigeria to visit someone who you know and who has
provided you with an invitation letter along with a copy of their passport.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

OIS Appointment booking for each applicant. This can only be done
after completing numbers 4 and 5 on this checklist and you have the rest
of the documents on this checklist with you. Please do not book more than
45 days before your travel date. http://apt.oisservices.com.

Passport/Travel Document a minimum of 6 months validity and with two
blank facing pages If non UK passport holders please see IMPORTANT
INFORMATION below.
Passport/Travel Document will be held by the mission until a decision has
been made
3Two recent UK passport sized photographs, taken no more than 2 weeks
before submission, with applicants full name written on the back.

Completed application form filled in and paid for online at
https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/visa/freshVisa. Once completed this
must be printed out, in portrait, signed and dated by applicant. .

Payment and acknowledgement slips, available once online payment has

PLEASE IGNORE INTERVIEW DATE ON PAYMENT SLIP AND BOOK OIS APPOINTMENT.

A clear copy of the applicant`s up to date bank statement showing all details including the balance, name and address during the week of your
appointment in our centre. We will not accept online banking statements if they are not stamped or certified by your bank. The bank statement must show a minimum balance of £500.00 in credit, overdraft not included.Original must be shown at the time of appointment at the OIS Centre

A formal typed letter of invitation, signed and dated, addressed to the
Nigerian High Commission London. This must include the address where the
applicant will be staying and that the inviter takes full immigration responsibilities. IF INVITED BY SPOUSE OR MARRIED TO A
NIGERIAN CITIZEN, PLEASE PROVIDE ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE AND A
COPY, IN ADDITION TO ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS.

Copy of the inviters Valid Passport, showing the data page with the
inviters’ signature. If the inviter is non Nigerian a copy of the inviters
valid residency permit must be submitted in addition to all other
documents, must be valid for a minimum of 6 months.

All the applicants must provide a pre-paid special delivery envelope to
return the passport. This can be purchased from the Post office or OIS
centre.

Express service (Optional)- Additional £70 Postal order for express service made payable to NIGERIA HIGH COMMISSION. Postal order to be purchased from post office before submission

3) Optional express service charge- Additional £70 Postal order

DOCUMENTS NOT IN ENGLISH MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH A CERTIFIED TRANSLATED COPY
ALL LETTERS MUST BE FORMAL LETTERS THEY SHOULD BE TYPED, PRINTED IN PORTRAIT, ADDRESSED TO
THE NIGERIAN HIGH COMMISSION LONDON, SIGNED AND DATED
IF SELF-EMPLOYED YOU MUST PROVIDE A TYPED LETTER STATING THE FACT AND THE PURPOSE OF THE
TRIP TO NIGERIA. YOU MUST ALSO PROVIDE A COPY OF YOUR MOST RECENT BANK STATEMENT INCLUDING
THE CURRENT BALANCE SHOWING YOUR FULL NAME AND ADDRESS. THE BANK STATEMENT NEEDS TO BE A
MINIMUM OF £500 IN CREDIT, OVERDRAFTS ARE NOT INCLUDED ORIGINAL MUST BE SHOWN AT THE TIME OF
SUBMISSION.
EU NATIONALS – UK Residency or EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS), please bring the original
and a copy. Not applicable for UK passport holders.
Republic of Ireland passport holders- Two most recent utility bills in the
applicant’s name or Full Tenancy Agreement or Current Mortgage statement.(Bank statement
/Driving License are not accepted as utility bills)
NON EU NATIONALS - UK Residency card or visa residency stamped on passport must be
valid for a minimum of 6 months at time of submission, please bring the original and a copy
