Part of Vision Issue 05 • Summer 2017 Welcome to the summer edition of Vision – the newsletter for all stakeholders working with Durham Tees Valley CRC. As ever we would welcome any feedback you may have either about this publication, its content or any initiatives you may be interested in working with us on. We are approaching the half way stage of contract year 4 and I have been meeting current ARCC partners and starting conversations regarding the next contract. We are very pleased with the strong level of support and interest so far in keeping the ARCC flag flying. As we approach this half way stage, we continue to have a strong presence nationally, I was invited to speak about the positive experience of DTV CRC at the recent Probation Institute Conference, where we also held a workshop. We are still awaiting information from the MoJ as to what the future holds in contractual terms – obviously there have been changes within the Ministerial team following the Election and we await announcement from the new Secretary of State, David Liddington, as to what his priorities are. On the day of the Queen’s Speech, Michael Spurr, CEO HMMPS, confirmed that the commitments to the prison reform agenda were ongoing and that they did not require any new legislation to progress with this. This is great news, there are some real opportunities to do some great work with the reform prisons, both on our doorstep and nationally. As always, if there is an area you think we could work more closely together on, then please get in touch. Bronwen Elphick Chief Executive
