is built on a foundation of faith and community impact. We have been a cornerstone in the community for over 150 years.

We celebrate that God has led us to become a vibrant, active, involved church family! Our programs and outreach have exploded and we are in need of additional space and amenities to support the growth and future of our ministry. Our Children and Youth programs are thriving, our Adult Sunday School and Bible Studies are overflowing, our mission space taxed, and our hospitality and welcome areas are too small.

Today, we face an exciting opportunity to transform ourfacility to meet the growing ministry needs. Following several years of study, workshops, and discernment, I believe now is the time to expand and re-purpose existing areas to make our space more functional and better aligned with our ministry goals and growth.

Our vision is to create an accessible, welcoming, and usable place for today and future generations to fulfill our mission to Vitally Connect People to People and People to God. This entire endeavor is the celebration of this mission statement.

I firmly believe this effort is about far more than money and facilities. First and foremost, it is about changed and blessed lives. Because of what we do, countless others in years ahead will find a faith home and a deeper relationship with God. That is our privilege and joy in this ministry we share.

We will be launching a Capital Campaign in early March to begin our efforts to meet the needs of our church community and fund our expansion. I look forward to your contributions in helping to support our campaign.

Please join our church family as we listen to God’s calling and support our Gratitude, Faith and Prayer with our actions. Together, we will Build for the Future.

In His Service,

Clarkston United Methodist Church

“CUMC means a lot to me and plays a big part in my life. It helped me develop my Christian morals and learn about Christ, and has made me a better person with lasting friends. It brings my family together. I don’t know what more I could ask for from church. I love the warm community, the friendly people, the mission trips, teachings, youth programs and services. I love the Church because it introduced me to God, and without it, I would be nothing inside. It made me who I am today.”

designed to support the financial needs of the ministry expansion. We estimate this total plan cost to be approximately $6-7 million. Specific financial detail and project costs will be shared in the weeks to come.

We hope that you thoughtfully consider how you can contribute. We need your prayers, support and active participation as we ask God to guide our church through this important process.

In March, Commitment cards will be distributed. We hope every gift will be offered – grounded in gratitude, revealed through prayer and lived in faith.

our sanctuary after a crazy week, and a place we can grow and learn. We can’t wait to see the church grow and become even more inviting to new families.”

— NATHAN AND SHANNON MAJIROS, MEMBERS SINCE 2012

“When we moved to Michigan, we knew we needed to find a church that ourchildren would love and grow in Christ. When friends invited us to CUMC, we instantly fell in love.

CUMC is our family away from family,

but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling-place for God. — EPHESIANS 2: 19-22
