VISION 2021Bangladesh is going to celebrate its 50 years of independence in the year 2021 .The Government of Bangladesh has declared ‘Vision 2021’ with a target to make Bangladesh as a middle income country using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and development offavorable business environment for innovative companies. The objective of Bangladesh Vision 2021 is to try to present a framework of a future Bangladesh that reflects the hopes and aspirations of the citizens of the country for an economically inclusive and politically accountable society. The Vision proposes a set of concrete measures to achieve eight identified goals, by 2021, through implementation of a number of short and medium-term initiatives and interventions.

General Targets for 2021

1.Governance sustainability is the first priority in alldevelopment decisions.

2. Eradicate extreme poverty and with no more than29% of the population below the upper poverty line by2015, while achieving national food security.

3. Minimize population growth, with replacement fertilityachieved by 2012.

4. Cities are sustainable and more effiient, withdevelopment following appropriate structure plans.

5. Villages: the quality of life for the bottom 50% ofrural people of all regions has improved by their owndefiitions and assessments.

Key Development Targets

*Ensure living accommodation for the entire population as soon as possible after 2015;

*Supply of pure drinking water for the entire population as soon as possible after 2011;

*Bring each house under hygienic sanitation by 2013;*Eliminate all contagious diseases;*Increase life expectancy to 70 years by 2021;*Reduce maternal mortality to 1.5%;*Raise the use of birth control methods to 80%; *Reducing infant mortality to 15 per thousand live births by

2021; *Generating 11,500 mw by 2015 and 20,000 mw by 2021

and ensuring per capita energy consumption up to 600 kwh.

Development Of Dhaka

By 2021 with business as usual the population of the greater Dhaka conurbation is expected to be exceed 22million people, with a third living in slums. Traffi speeds would grind almost to a standstill. There would begrowing inequality not only in wealth but also in health between better off and poor. Those who can affordbetter housing, cars and air conditioning will add to energy consumption and pollution levels. Open space and recreation facilities for the majority will bean unattainable dream.. Environmentaldamage will increasingly result in economic costs and impediments to a third of our GDP which is based in this region.

Government policies

Strengthen the capacity of local government (Upazilasand Union Parishads) to develop structure plans,enforce a simple planning process for developmentand change in land use, and to take as stronger role incoordinating water management. The latter will be apriority since seasonal excesses and shortfalls of waterare a major force shaping rural development.

Vision 2021:education

*Elimination of illiteracy as soon as possible after 2014;

*Ensuring 100% net enrolment at primary school as soon as possible after 2010 with specific steps to address the dropout problem;

*Providing free tuition up to degree level as soon as possible after 2013;

*Emergence of Bangladesh as a country of educated people with skill in ICT;

*Moving towards knowledge based society based on science and technology education.

Cities1.Establish Dhaka region planning authority incorporating under it all existing relevant agencies.2. Prepare and approve a structure plan for greater Dhaka with land use zoning through pubic consultations and hearings.3. Revise and harmonise service provision costs (e.g.higher water and electricity charges for buildings lackingon-site storm water retention, rainwater harvesting,solar panels, etc).4. Revise and enforce building codes/ regulations covering lower carbon buildings and earthquake resistance.

1.Adopt sustainable development objective and targets in Planning Commission.

Bangladesh Armed Forces consists of the three uniformed military services

of Bangladesh: the Bangladesh army, the Bangladesh Navy and the Bangladesh

Air Force. The para-military organization Bangladesh National Cadet

Corps (BNCC) is a reserved force & Directed by Army, Navy, Air Force. Its under the

command of Diffence Ministry. The para-military Border Guard Bangladesh (formerly Bangladesh Rifles) and Bangladesh Coast

Guard are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs during

peacetime, but during wartime they fall under the command of Bangladesh

Army and Bangladesh Navy respectively.

* Vision 2021 in Defence of Bangladesh is mostly important vision in Bangladesh.Our PM Sheikh Hasina is the Minister of Ministry of Defence. She declared She will enrich the defence and para-military service system. In 2021 The police, BGB, AMRY, Air-force, Navy will get new crafts. There salary will also increasing. Their family members will also get educational, basic needs and economical benefits. They will contribute a lot in our country. If 2021 will successfully achieve then our socity, zilla, devision all over our country will remove their inner problems like- daccoit, Then our country will become a develped contry, People of our country will live in peacefully. Their livlihood will become developing than previous. Be clear yourself then the country will be clean and beautiful.
