Free commercial boilers - how can that be possible?

As a country we have become reliant on fossil fuels such as oil and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG), unfortunately fossil fuels are both carbon unfriendly and according to some, unsustainable.

Like many parts of the industrialised world, the UK is committed to reducing its carbon dioxide emissions, one such commitment has been our participation to the Kyoto Agreement, if the agreed carbon reduction targets are not met then financial penalties would ensue.

Carbon Dioxide Emissions from businesses in the UK accounted for 16%*1 of our total emissions in 2013, which was up from the previous year. There are challenging targets for 2020, ultimately aiming towards the achievement of an 80%*2 reduction in greenhouse gases by 2050.

In 2010 the Government launched the Feed in Tariff Scheme (FiTS), the result was a vast number of businesses and home owners installing solar Photovoltaic panels which use the sun to generate free electricity.

Based on the success of FiTS the UK is the first to launch the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), this scheme which is regulated by Ofgem gives us the mechanism to offer a free system, serviced and maintained for 20 years.

The Renewable Heat Incentive is the world’s first long term financial support programme for renewable heat. By switching to a carbon neutral fuel it will assist Government meet its carbon emissions reduction targets.

There is a fixed amount of money paid under the RHI scheme for each kWht (kilowatt hour thermal) generated by a biomass heating system, over time that money covers the cost of your boiler, installation and all future servicing and maintenance.

Wood pellets are officially classed as a carbon neutral fuel, this is because they absorb as much carbon dioxide during growth, as they give off during combustion; you are future proofing your business from any Green Taxes that might be introduced to commercial energy users, of course as well as significantly reducing your carbon footprint.

Crisis diversion is a big consideration these days, with more and more unrest around the world, the countries we have become reliant on to supply us with our fossil fuels may not be able to, or even want to carry on supplying us. Did you know?The RHI payment is linked to the boiler not the business, if you bought a system and in say 8 years you suffered a catastrophic fail and were forced to buy a new biomass boiler, you would need to re-apply to Ofgem at whatever rate was in force at the time (a considerably lower rate, if anything at all) - A key consideration, especially if you are thinking of buying a system.

Biomass boiler in a shipping container? The reason behind a heat cabin rather than a container, apart from it looking more pleasing to the eye is condensation!

Condensation will spoil the pellets and will eventually cause issues to the mechanical and electrical workings of the boiler itself, not a good scenario. Our cabin is not a modified shipping container, it has been purpose built for the task in hand. Using only the highest quality products such as Kingspan insulation we can be certain that your heat cabin will still be looking great many years after the scheme has finished
