What stood out for me was how different children are in these outside the classroomenvironments. Staying away from home for a few nights is a powerful way of developing key life skills and provides opportunies for learners, parents and teachers to strengthen their relaonships. In the EOTC Guidelines 2016, Bringing The Curriculum Alive”, it states; The vision of New Zealands naonal curriculum cannot be achieved inside the classroom alone. I noted strengths and competencies in the children including great leadership, cooperaon and teamwork, support for one another and encouragement given to those in need. Many children were challenged by being placed in situaons outside their comfort zone while being encouraged to dig deep to succeed. And so I thank those teachers who planned and collaborated closely with the wonderful camp mums and dads who were able to aend these camps and also acknowledge the trust all caregivers place in our teachers to nurture and look aſter their children over the course of the camps. On behalf of all our staff I wish everyone a very happy Easter and we look forward to seeing all our learners back at school on Wednesday, 4th April.
