Relocate the Data Center Infrastructure of the Bank in a timely manner assuring:

Zero Down Time for the Operation

Failure is NOT an option

Challenges

● Different technologies in place ( SAN’s from Dell/EMC & IBM, servers running all types of OS such AS/400, Tandem, MS-Windows)

● Dismount-Relocate-Mount Highly integrated information systems and Applications

● Human resources shortage from the IT dept of the Bank

● Window of downtimes very short (i.e. 01:00-06:00 in the nights) for most of the critical systems

● Constant changes of the environment

Servers Recovery Challenge

● 280 Servers interrelated and interconnected

● Numerous of different technologies Server Platforms

● Need to have a Recovery Plan that will work 100%

● Window of Relocation extremely small (5 hours) during the night)

● Window of Recovery 2 hours max

● Build a Virtualization Infrastructure in the Target Site● Virtualize the Servers to be Relocated each time● Copy the PtoV’s on an external Disc● Transfer with different truck the external Disc● Connect the External Disc on the Virtualization

Infrastructure in the Target Site● Check Readiness of Virtualization Environment● Transfer the actual servers to be relocated● In case of a problem activate the Virtualized

environment
