Virtual Reference Services

• Email–allows students to email a reference question to their library

• Consortium Chat–allows students to have a live chat with a librarian, most times, from a different library. Colleges and universities participate in consortium reference services in an effort to offer real time assistance to students who are not at the library and, at the same time, avoid paying costly licensing fees.

• Live Web-Based Chat—allows students to have a live chat with a librarian from their school library.
