Dear Buffalo Grove Resident:

First, on behalf of the entire staff and the Board of Commissioners, I just want to once

again express our gratitude to the entire Buffalo Grove community for your incredible

patience and support while we continue to try to adapt to what has become the new

normal. While I know it is frustrating to still be without certain Park District facilities,

the good news is that we’ve been able reopen some outdoor amenities, like tennis

and pickleball courts, as well as the disc golf courses and the Happy Tails Dog Park.

Hopefully, we will be able to get back to enjoying recreational programs and facilities

in-person soon. But, until then, we will continue to work hard to provide you with a

wide variety of virtual options to enjoy.

As we continue with virtual programs in June, we have expanded our offerings, as well as provided a few options

that will allow you to safely participate at a Park District location, and get you out of the house for a little bit. And,

we will release similar online offerings each month, until we are back to our normal operations. This June guide will

be almost all virtual programming; but, hopefully, we will be able to reintroduce on-site programs in July or August,

depending on what the local, state and federal guidelines and recommendations are regarding the pandemic.

Please know that we are as anxious for things to open back up and get back to normal as you are; but, safety will

always be our first priority. As these mandates and recommendations change, we will keep you informed on how

we will transition back into on-site programming, as well as what facilities (indoor and outdoor) will reopen, and

with what restrictions. For updates as they happen, please visit the Coronavirus Information page on our website

at bgparks.org.

In the meantime, please know that we are working hard to do everything we can to provide the entire Buffalo Grove

community with the very best in recreational opportunities and beautiful parks. If you have any questions, you can

reach out to us by email at [email protected].

I hope you and your family remain safe and well.

Broadway Bound Calling all Broadway Bound Campers and theatre kids! Don’t worry; Broadway Bound is never out of reach, even now. Join this new take on our beloved theatre camp, as we still come together to create a show, make friends, and grow as artists. This camp is designed for children with all levels of theatre experience, and will provide campers with professional training from teaching artists in the areas of dance, music, acting and script creation. Together, with our unmatchable Broadway Bound staff, campers will create a musical theatre cabaret or showcase experience. Each camp day will include theatre games and activities, design prompts, color clash challenges, and dress up days, just like the camp you know and love. Everyone gets to be a star at this camp, as we explore the performing arts together. Included in your fee is an opportunity called “A La Carte Afternoon,” where each child will be given a menu of classes to choose from. This experience will allow for campers to pick a performance specialty group from 1 - 2 pm on Wednesdays, lead by knowledgeable, energetic and creative staff. A letter and calendar will be emailed out the first week in June, detailing the schedule and plans. For more information, contact Jessi Hersman at [email protected].

Dance CampCalling all dancers! This camp is designed for children with all levels of dance experience. Campers will be provided with professional training from teaching artists in the areas of ballet, jazz, tap and lyrical. Together, with our unmatchable dance camp staff, campers will learn these styles, and present an online showcase experience. Each camp day will include technique and choreography classes, as well as dance camp games and activities you know and love. In true dance camp fashion, we have not forgotten your love of specialty dance offerings, like hip hop, musical theatre, and styles from around the world. We have plans to incorporate those too. A letter and calendar will be emailed out the first week in June, detailing the schedule and plans. For more information, contact Maddie Plewacki at [email protected].
