CRJ 700 / 900 INLET SCREEN ASSEMBLY

Mitchell PMA CBP-00100MIT

Problem:

Debris getting into the cooling duct work. Trash gets injected into the duct work of the aircraft results premature failure of

the recirculation fans requiring maintenance personnel to pull up flooring in order to access the splitter duct to remove the blockage

Solution:

Created FAA-Approved assembly that blocks debris from entering

Result:

Debris blocked with no noted degradation in airflow or performance. Successfully installed on CRJ700/900 fleet with two US based customers. Pending approval with third US based customer.

CFM56-7 IGNITION LEAD REPAIR KIT

NEW HORIZONS PMA P/N 9043877NHOEM P/N 9043877 (NHA Ignition Lead P/N 9059110-1/-2

Problem:

• Slow delivery time of kit from OEM (sometimes 90-180 days).

▪ Customer or Airlines experienced heavy delays in TAT of • overhauled/repaired ignition lead.

• Solution:

• New Horizons developed a PMA ignition lead repair kit• for in-house use leading to quicker TAT for customers as well

• as significant cost savings.

• Parts are produced with better performing material and of higher quality.•

• Result:❑ PMA Kit provides 40-50 % cost savings

❑ PMA Ignition Kits solid direct repair stations for quick TAT

❑ Better quality materials for extended ignition lead life

B737NG/MAX Air Separation Module Assy

CLSS / Cobham PMA p/n 3261211-0101 (OEM p/n 5849902-3)

Problem:

• Chronic Reliability Issues• Only lasts 1/3rd of predicted service life

Solution:

• Superior redesign • Repairable• Improved Fiber Membrane and robust

materials• “Plug-and-Play” installation• Reduces maintenance labor by 75%

Result:

• ~800 PMA units purchased since 2015• Over 4.25 Million Flight Hours• No Failures to date!

A320 Air Separation Module Assy

CLSS / Cobham PMA p/n 3261217-0101 (OEM p/n 2060017-103)

Problem:

• Chronic Reliability Issues• ALS 5 Life Limitations

• High/Low Temp Restrictions• FH Limits

Solution:

• Superior redesign • Repairable• Improved Fiber Membrane and robust

materials• Removed on Condition not subject to ALS 5

Life Limitations

Result:

• ~150 PMA units purchased to date• No Unscheduled Removals to date!

Impeller – Waste System Vacuum Blower

Jet Parts Engineering p/n 645133JP-2, 645134JP-1

(OEM p/n 645133-2, 645134-1)

Problem:

• New OEM part required additional balancing work prior to installation

Solution:

• Design refinement on blade profile and balancing

Result:

• Improved contour allows for decreased repair time• Ready to use out of the box

Improved Maintainability

Jet Parts Engineering (Aero Parts Mart) with Horizon Air

PMA p/n APMA3534-4

Problem:

• OEM Twist & Lock system fails over time as dirt and debris invades the rod, becomes a safety issue during ground maintenance

Solution:

• Switched to a simple thumb press catch & lock design

Result:

• Improved safety, reliability, and ease of operation

• Mechanics can set the rod in place with one arm instead of using both arms

Improved Reliability and Safety

A320 Family Vortex Generator

Aviation Technical Services p/n 780001-500-501/503 (OEM p/n D57248297200000)

Problem:

• A320 while during approach to land- High dBs caused by air passing over fuel over-pressure vents.

• Comply with European Union Noise Abatement requirements at airports• Airbus Service Bulletin subscription fee requirements in addition to new part purchase• High cost/low availability of kits

Solution:

• Due to installation complexity, pursued PMA• Utilizes existing fastener holes with no impact to fuel

over-pressure protector ventilation systems

PMA Developed through STC

Result:

• Increased part availability at significantly reduced cost

• Met noise abatement targets

• Install base of 500+ aircraft with no in-service difficulties
