In 2005, The SHC Programme accepted the proposed task entitled “Solar Resource Knowledge Management” as Task 36 with collaboration of PVPS and SolarPACES
Purpose and Objectives
Provide standardization and benchmarking of international solar resource data sets to ensure reliability and intercomparability
=> Subtask A
Provide improved data availability and accessibility using data structures and information portals that address specific user needs
=> Subtask B
Develop and improve methods so that resource products, including solar resource forecasts, achieve greater accuracy with higher temporal and spatial resolution
=> Subtask C

Compare actual yield with satellite-based yield estimated from satellite measurement of global irradiance at the ground.
In case of significant deviation perform failure detection routines.
Automatic warning of the photovoltaics system operator.
