Intellectual

My child is in a perfect condition

for this age

Ali is showing more intense interest in his surroundings. Ali smiles at familiar people and toys, is able to laugh at surprising or funny things

(such as a little dog), and is developing lots of cute little

habits http://

Ali is able to find a hidden object.Ali really likes this hiding game and shows by his interest that he wants it repeated. However, if you hide the object in the same place repeatedly,

and then change the hiding place, Ali has a strong tendency to look in the

old hiding place, and then get confused about where the object is,

or forget about it http://www.myvirtualchild.com/

Physical

  When Ali’s

average physical activities

camper to the pattern of

typical child.

Ali wants to climb stairs such as the front landing of your apartment.

Either you or your partner tries to provide the right amount of

assistance to avoid a bad fall.

According to booklet “Ages and Stages” child walks hold onto

furniture or with adult

help

Social / Emotional

 Ali is socially

in same pattern of milestone

development than children

in his age

Your partner has received advancement and a pay raise. The three of you celebrate, and Ali is

very happy, but doesn't have a clue what the party is about.

http://www.myvirtualchild.com/raise.html

According to book Ages and

Stages child wants parents

to be in constant sight

Intellectual

Ali is intellectually more active

than children in his age

At nine months old, Ali began to understand a few words and point to

something he wanted. At twelve months old, Ali now clearly

understands a couple of dozen words. In fact, Ali just recently

pronounced his first clear word and pointed at the object in question....http://www.myvirtualchild.com/

As the book Ages and

Stages said:Children at the age just say first word

Physical

Ali is in the pattern of millstone

development

Ali has a tremendous drive to use his motor skills. You have to keep

an eye on Ali because he will quickly toddle off into the crowd at public places or even into the street

http://www.myvirtualchild.com/raise.html

Child can walk without help

and also backward. As mentions in Ages and

Stages booklet

Social / Emotional

I think Ali is in the pattern

because according to the book is

the norm for this age.

Ali was shy with the examiner, who thought he was nervous around new

adults or just didn't know what to do

http://www.myvirtualchild.com/raise.html

As the booklet Ages and

Stages said: Children act shy

around strangers

Intellectual

Ali is little behind the millstone

development pattern

Ali doesn't seem to be able to clap or move in rhythm to music and

doesn't seem interested in singing along with songs. You figure Ali is a bit slow in learning about music

http://www.myvirtualchild.com/raise.html

According to the book Ages

and StagesA child has to enjoy stories, rhythm, and

songs

The Infant years (Birth to 12 Months Old)Identify specific health and safety considerations that you will have to consider during the infant years. How will you address these issues?

Example:Hand washingProper hand washing is essential to keeping infants healthy as their immune system is low. “Hand washing is the most important health practice that parents /educators and children must implement to reduce the spread of infections.” (Pimento, Page 129) This was seen when my baby had many colds and ear infections within the first year. Although it is common for infants to catch colds and infections, I need to use proper hand washing. Now add your next point….

Breast vs. bottle feeding

From the beginning the only thing that infants can do to feed is sucking. The most completed nutrition that an infant can have is breast milk. “breastfeeding promote mother and baby attachment, which increase baby’s cognitive, social and emotional development but there are many mother who breast-feed and need support in making transition from home to work”(Pimento, page 221). It could solve with bottle of breast feed that give it to care giver every morning or choosing a care giver close to the place mother work.

Immunization

Vaccination is one of the most important elements to prevent rare disease in that start in infancy. “Scheduled immunization will provide basic protection for most children against certain common diseases”. (http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/hl-vs/babies-bebes/immun/index-eng.php) immunization reduce the risk of involving in any serious illness

SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome)

There is a risk to infant mostly under age of six month that dies by SIDS. “SIDS occurs most often, though not always, during sleep. This may be overnight in the crib, but it could be during a nap at any time of day.” (http://www.babycenter.ca/baby/health/cotdeath/#4). There is still no answer for cause of death.

Car Safety

Car crashes are one of the most common causes of death and also brain damage in many children but to reduce the number of damage in infant there are some guidelines. “Infant car seats should face the back of the vehicle, rest at a 45-degree angle and move no more than 2.5 cm (1 in.) where the seatbelt or Universal Anchorage System (UAS) strap is routed through the child car seat ” (http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/carseat/choose.shtml#infants).

Toys safety Infant learn to play between zero to three month old so appropriate and safe toys can let them explore. Because most infant toys are “mouth then toys should be clean and sanitize daily in order to precaution that remove germs” (Pimento, page 124). That can help to reduces sickness in infants.

Page 6: Virtual child

The Toddler Years (2 Years Old)

Have there been any environmental events that you think might have influenced your child’s development?Does this create any health or safety concerns for your toddler?

Toys safety Toddler mostly plays with mouthy toys so the toys should be bigger and also should not have any sharp spot on it. Also should put “Small toys, balls or loose or broken toy parts are choking hazards. Keep them out of reach” to prevent accidents (http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/cps-spc/pubs/cons/toy_safe-jouet_secur-eng.php).

Nutrition

Nutrition is a most important fact that helps children’s developmental process.” Between birth and age three, children grow and develop at a tremendous rate. Proper nutrition helps fuel this process. Children learn many important lessons about healthy eating during their early months and years of life.” (http://www.healthyalberta.com/HealthyEating/529.htm.) so parents have to provide healthy food for toddlers.

Immunization

Immunization should be continued to immunize the child from different type of sickness and

diseases.” Immunization schedules and vaccine information help you make decisions about your child's health.” (http://babyparenting.about.com/od/immunizations/Keeping_Immunizations_Current.htm.)

Car Safety

Toddler still needs to use car seat but the difference is “To install a forward-facing car seat, fasten the tether strap, then use your body weight to tighten and fasten the seatbelt or Universal Anchorage System (UAS) strap.” (http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/carseat/choose.shtml#infants)

Hand Washing

The most important thing to prevent infection is hand washing specially in toddler that mostly have their hands in mouth or touch a toy and then put it on. “Hand washing is one of the most important practices to reduce germ” (Pimento, page 113.)

Page 7: Virtual child

Millstone development of my virtual child “in pre-school and school age "

I think Ali is going to develop his physical milestone even

though the report said he is behind his age but there are the aspect in him according to

report" The examiner commented that Ali was able to concentrate on activities for 10-15

minutes, which was age-appropriate. Ali was coming along fine, but she still recommended

trying to engage Ali's attention in something really interesting for longer and longer

periods of time, to gradually build up his tolerance for preschool-type activities"

(http://www.myvirtualchild.com/raise.html.) As result Ali can effort the time he needs to

play but if I consider more effective moments with him he would approach the millstone.

Ali is emotionally attach to me and my partner and as the report said but he has " fairly

aggressive with the other children. The examiner recommended setting firmer guidelines

for behaviour at home, giving Ali practice at expressing" so Ali needs some calm activities

to reduce the aggressive behaviour or even sometimes use the time out to eliminate the

feeling. According to the book Ages and Stages is natural for toddler to be a little

aggressive so f Ali can reduce by practicing to be calm. Ali's intellectual skill is going a

little behind pattern of millstone development because when the examiner test Ali so she

found that " Ali scored at about the 12-15 month old range in terms of communication

skill, language comprehension, and language production. The examiner recommended that

you spend more time talking with Ali, even if his replies are short or hard to understand.

She also recommended asking questions that require some kind of extended answer (rather

than just "yes" or "no"), and looking at and naming things in picture books,

Page 8: Virtual child

etc."(http://www.myvirtualchild.com/raise.html).but according to the booklet Ages and

Stages children should speak 2 or 3 complete sentences but it still can solve by talking with

him and read more book.
