NCS is designed for solubilizingcomplex biological materials in toluenecocktails.Tests with NCS on whole tissue, blood, and plasma show higher figuresof merit (counting efficiency timessample weight) than those with otherdigestion reagents or procedures, NCS isthe strongest (0.6 N) solubilizer availablefor liquid scintillation counting.

NCS's versatility with tissues alsoapplies to many different aqueousinorganic solutions (e.g. salts, acids, andwater). Directions for mixing NCS withboth tissues and aqueous solutions areas easy as "A-B-C":

A. Add sample and NCS to the countingvial (usually 4-6 parts NCS to 1 portsample).

B. When necessary, bring temperature to500 C until the sample is digested.

C. Cool and add scintillator solution.NCS not only dissolves alrnost all

tissues and many inorganic aqueoussolutions, but helps water down highprices. it costs less since you use andneed less. Therefore you purchase less.

Contact our technical servicedepartment for detailed information. Our staff will not only solve problems

concerning cocktoils and sample-to-sample preparation, but help with any ofyour particular counting problbems.
