Tomakemattersworse,womencouldnotbethinkersorartistsbecause–accordingtotradition–womendidnothaveenoughintelligence.Forthesamereason,womencouldnotstudyatschoolsoruniversities.Virginiawantedtolearn,butshecouldn’tborrowbooksattheuniversitylibrary!Thismadeherverysadandangry.Luckily,herfamilyhadalargelibraryathomeandVirginiareadandread!Shewasself-educated.

In1912shemarriedLeonardWoolf.In1914theFirstWorldWarstarted.In1917VirginiaandLeonardstartedtheirownpublishinghouse,calledthe
