The lawsuit provides details regarding the various fraudulent statements surrounding the transaction and the Virginia Cook’s calculated decision to enter into the second contract for an increased commission. The Dallas County District Court lawsuit requests punitive damages against the Virginia Cook Realtors and its co-defendants based on their “campaign of fraud to steal Plaintiff’s residence” to increase their commission. I-Beam contends that it seeks these punitive damages to ensure Virginia Cook Realtors never again victimizes Dallas Citizens: Contract Law exists to protect unsuspecting consumers from predatory businesses that lie, cheat, and steal to profit off others’ misfortunes. Plaintiff files the instant lawsuit to send a message to Virginia Cook Realtors: You will never again victimize Dallas Citizens to make a quick buck. “Virginia Cook Realtors messed up badly and proceeded to dig their own grave by failing to fess up to their actions. My client and I will fight tooth and nail to ensure Virginia Cook does not get away with violating my client’s rights. We feel a civic duty to Dallas Citizens to ensure that Virginia Cook Realtors—and other brokers across the North Texas—think twice before ripping off consumers,” said Jack Siegel of the Siegel Law Group, lead counsel for I-Beam.
