Change is hard, so why did we do it?
O System Automation was not going to support any enhancements in L2kO No on-line licensing or payments
O Newer technology (code) that is easier to upgradeO L2k was machine basedO MLO is web based – Interfaced through Internet
ExplorerO MLO is more customizableO Easier to send messages to licenseesO In future, will allow applicants to send additional
paperwork with their on-line applications.
Again, change is hard!
O Slowness of system – has gotten betterO Maybe more of a function of where our
servers are located and how they are working and interconnecting.
O Biggest problem is printing from MLO (letter templates, licenses)O All printing goes into a queue which means it
can take a significant amount of time for a print job to start.O Batch printing vs. printing to individual printers

Training
O The “How” training on MLO was initiated a month prior to implementation.O Basic procedures were similar to L2k
O After implementation, issues regarding the “When” and “Why” started to pop up. O Workgroups of users were developed to write
SOPs and to identify additional software needsO LicensingO DisciplineO Compliance

O eMobile is not part of MLO, but is another product of SA
O The eMobile program is located on the inspector’s computer.O Must be synced with the server before MLO is
populated with basic data points from the inspection.
O Signatures are captured on the screen using a finger or stylus.
O The inspector converts the entire report to a PDFO The PDF is uploaded to the “documents”
section of the license moduleO Emailed to the licensee.
O Drawback – there is no way for the Board to automatically know when an inspection has been synced. Inspector must notify the Board by email.
