What can government do about violence among students?

Thesis Statement: banning tv programs that give bad example to

students, giving morale education to students, and ask the school to set

stricter rules are three things that government can do to prevent

violence among junior and high students in Indonesia

Body Paragraph :

I. Government has to ban tv programs that give bad examples to

student to prevent violence among junior and high school students.

1. Banning tv programs which contains violence

2.Give a warning to tv stations which broadcast inappropriate shows

II. Government has to give morale education to students to prevent

violence among students

1. Give socialization to school

2. Socializing morale education by public service annoucement or

social medias

III. Government should ask the schools to set stricter rules to prevent

violence among students

1. Ask the school to set stricter rules at school

2. Socializing to parents that they should setting stricter rules at home

Conclusion : In conclusion, the government has important roles to

overcome this problem. Because Indonesia’s future has become Indonesian children

responsibility. So, government has to work together with parents and school to

prevent and overcome violence among student for a better future.

What can government do about violence among students?

We often hear about violence among students. Like what happened in

Jakarta recently,a high school student in jakarta passed away when he involved in a

students brawl and there are two high school students died when they were bullied

by their seniors . Violence among students usually happen between junior and high

school students. Violence among students has become serious problem in recent

decades. According to Komisi Perlindungan Anak Indonesia (KPAI), violence among

students which was reported to the police increased 20% in 2013. And between 1st

January to 15th November 2014 there are 769 student brawls. School, parents, and

also government have tried to overcome and prevent this problem. One of the

example is Ahok. As a Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahja Purnama (Ahok) dispersed

fifteen high school gangsters to prevent violence among students. This is one of the

proofs that government has try to prevent this problem. But, it’s not effective

because violence still happening in many schools. However government has

important role to prevent this matter. Because, if government can succesfully

minimize violence among students cases, this can led to brighter future. Banning tv

programs that contained violence, giving morale education to students regularly,

and asking the schools to set stricter rules are three things that government can do

to prevent violence among junior and high school students in Indonesia.

Government has to ban tv programs that give bad examples to student to

prevent violence among junior and high school students. Technologies have become

important in our daily life. One of the technologies that has been improving is

television. Students usually watch tv and don’t realise that the shows they watch

aren’t suitable for their ages. For example like action movies which contain fighting

scenes. Once, there was a boy in Jambi who copied smack down scene from cartoon

called Naruto until he passed away. Another example are soap operas. In recent

years soap operas in Indonesia have changed from educating to misleading the

children. Soap operas or short soap operas these days use inappropriate and

provocating title to make the viewer interested. For example “Sumpah Pocong Di

Sekolah, Aku Dibuang Suamiku Seperti Tisu Bekas, Pacar Lebih Penting Dari Istri, Ibu

Jangan Rebut Suamiku, Istri Dari Neraka aka Aku Benci Istriku "etc. And the soap

operas contain bullying, physical violence, verbal abuse, suicide attempt and so on.

For example in a sopa opera called “Putih abu-abu” there are some scenes where

the lead actor, Nina being teased by her friends and even physical abuse. And

another example in soap opera called “Ganteng –ganteng serigala” there are some

fighting scenes. So without parents directions, students can copy some violence

contained in the shows which can led to death. Basically, government has to ban tv

programs which contain violence .

Government has to give morale education to students to prevent violence

among junior and high school students. It’s very essential step. By socializing what

violence is, the negative effect that students can get , it can make students more

aware about violence among students and choose to avoid it. And they can also

share it to their friends who involved in violence among studens. First, government

has to go to schools to give socialization. Second, Government can also use public

service announcements (PSA) and social medias as the tools to give socialization.

This can be effective because most of students watch tv and use social medias these

days. To make the students take this seriously, government has to make the public

service annoncement and advertisements more interesting. For example, they can

use public figure or celebrity as the model to warn the students about violence

among students. Because idols usually have big influences to teenage life.

Government should ask the schools to set stricter rules to prevent violence

among junior and high school students. Government must demand the schools that

they have to make the schools regulation more threatening. Because the more

stricter rules that the school have the more likely students obey the rules. For

example, school should give punishment like suspension or spell from school. Even

though every school already set these kinds of rules but it’s not quite effective

especially suspension. Usually schools just give suspension for few days in order to

maintain the school’s reputation. Suspension is not make the students stop doing

the violence. Spell is the right choice to make the students stop. And also parent has

a big role to guide their children. Government also need to socialize this problem to

parents by asking the parents to guide their children by giving them information

and give them attention.

In conclusion, the government has important roles to overcome this

problem. Because Indonesia’s future has become Indonesian children responsibility.

So, government has to work together with parents and school to prevent and

overcome violence among student for a better future.
