A world of refinement and cosmopolite people.Where the blend of classic beauty meets raw materials such as wood and concrete.Creating a new classic, a balance between sobriety, authenticity and graphic patterns. The colors are a blend of neutrals, with powders and a touch of bright accent colors.

Happiness and color are the hallmarks of this trend.A highly optimistic universe created by highly creative individuals. Brights contrasted with pastels with a touch of added grey to keep them in trend.Used as accents in interiors, on furniture or accessories to draw our attention, maybe change our perception ?

Is one of the most visible trend in today’s interior design.A fascination, a need to be connected with the nature. People’s lifestyles are driven by a meditative attitude and a high interest in ecology. It showcases the raw beauty of material with simplicity. The use of a neutral palette, white colors creates soothing, natural light atmosphere.

We find the warmth and comfort in a friendly atmosphere of reclaimed items, this time with an added twist of tongue & cheek humor and modernity.Colors are a mix of deep, fresh and neutrals with an added touch of bohemian style.

Valérie is one of our multitalented design managers, she leads the design team who specializes in the Home Segment at Tarkett. As an expert in Home Trends, her strength lies in understanding how to translate these trends to inspire her upcoming collections. Combined with her intricate understanding of the complexity of the different markets she assures the relevancy of these design collections.

What are your personal and professional inspirations?

As a designer, I am curious by nature and my inspirations are diverse. Travelling creates lots of inspiration, whether close to home or in a faraway land. Along with exhibits, professional shows, social media and movies which all feed my inspiration in different ways.

What are your perceptions of global trends ?

Today there is a true questioning around over consumerism, there is a very strong pull back to the authenticity of products, and the origin of their roots. Simplicity, naturalness and the search of imagery that reminds us of our childhood memories that bring back comfort and wellbeing into our lives. We seek experiences over materialist goods.

What does it mean to be a designer at Tarkett?

As Tarkett designers we are the pivot to many teams, which include marketing strategy, communication, production, installers and quality. Our products reflect the engagement and team work that happens in the current day to day as well as in our goals. Without our engagement and teamwork spirit, our collections would have never been created.

PHTHALATE FREE TECHNOLOGY All our vinyl floorings in Europe are produced with the phthalate-free technology*. With a Phthalate-free technology and a low VOC emissions (as 10 times lower than the EU norm limitations) our vinyl floors are fully compliant with the REACH regulations and strongly contribute in improving the Indoor air quality.

LOW VOC EMISSIONS Our new flooring collection has VOC emissions levels that are ten times lower than the strictest standards in Europe, thus contributing to better indoor air quality.

• Store the 2m rolls upright in a safe position and the 3 or 4m rolls laid on the floor.

• The subfloor must be flat, level, clean, without marks (no felt pen, marker, etc.), sound, dry, solid, hard, smooth and not exposed to moisture (humidity rising). Absorbency must be checked.

Installation on tiles could cause telegraphing effect (visible joints of tiling on the Vinyl Rolls surface).That’s why Vinyl Rolls is not recommended on tiling. A leveling compound has to be used first to ensure level and flatness. When joints are not visible, loose laying or gluing can be admitted. Grease and dust have to be removed.

Accessories to be used for installation

Tarko SprayFor Semi Glued and loose laid installation, double sided tape adhesive is

recommended. The aim is to ease the installation, to maintain the floor in place and when installed to secure it.

Check the subfloor and prepare it if needed (please check next page for preparation).

Leave the vinyl roll at least 24 hours in a minimum room-temperature of 15°C.

The floor should run parallel to the incoming light in square rooms, and along the length of the room in narrow rooms.

The sheets should be laid so that joints do not coincide with doorways.

it is recommanded to let the Vinyl sheet relax unrolled in place 24h before final installation.

10 Healthy home tips to help improve their indoor air quality

• Open windows as often as possible

• Remove dust regularly

• Ventilate rooms that tend to become humid

• Rearrange furniture regularly

• Daily maintenance: sweep or vacuum your floor

• Periodical cleaning: use warm water and natural ph-neutral cleaning products to wash your flooring - Detergents are an important source of indoor-air-pollution

• Avoid floors that tend to have cracks and seams

• Use ecological spray glue or adhesive-free floors

• Choose a healthy and hygienic solution like vinyl!

Place the floor in the right positionning.

Cut excess vinyl on the outskirt

Secure the edges (including joints in the middle of the room) with double tape on the sides, for a semi-glued or a loose lay installation.

Clean your vinyl floor with hot water and a neutral cleaning product and then rinse.
