Nothing fancy, just a good Backwoods-shotgun-shack-groove. Based in Ghent, Belgium, I've got the pleasure of living in a vivid cultural city, which leads to spontaneous collaborations with other musicians, so although I usually play solo, chances are pretty big that I'll share the stage with some friends if I have a hometown show, or I just bring my friends on the road with me. My musical endeavours started when I was 16 and got my first guitar, a very bland Stagg Dreadnaught. The goal was to learn some Johnny Cash songs, as I'd beenrunning around the house annoying the life out of everyone blurting out his tunes for quite some time by then. After a few weeks of trying though, I came to realize that learning chords and following tablature was not my thing - suffice to say the guitar ended up under the bed. Fast forward a couple of years, to where I was about 18. It was then that I heard Blind Willie Johnson's 'Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground'. That song really struck a chord with me, and revitalized my ambition to play the guitar. And thus I bought my first vintage guitar, a 1930's Faux-Resonator by Regal, which arrived on February 10th, 2011. Tuned it to an open chord, and I've been playing ever since. Too cheap - or broke - to buy a 'beater' guitar that I could haul around, I made one myself out of an old gas mask cannister, which resulted in me ending up on a fundraising CD a few months after I started playing, being '29 Years, 29 Songs, Vol.I' by Stichting Saz. It still is an honour to be part of that project, and I'm wholeheartedly grateful for that chance. For the past couple of years I've been doing shows throughout Europe on a regular basis. A shoutout to Andreas Riedel is due here, for bringing me to Germany for the first time 2 years ago, which led to many new opportunities. In these last two years, I've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with names such as Jan Akkerman (NL), Tim Holehouse (UK), Dad Horse Experience (DE), Hack Mack Jackson (DE), Gipsy Rufina (IT), Dylan Walshe (IR), Long Line Down (DK), The Freeborn Brothers (PL), Ford Bronco's (DE), The Devil's Trade (HU), ...and playing at various festivals and other cool venues throughout Europe. Fast forward another 2 years, which brings us to the present, and I am happy to inform you that I've been signed by Mofomusic, an independent record label based in Bremen, Germany. I just recorded my first album with them in May 2016, the release date is scheduled for the winter.

Nothing fancy, just a good Backwoods-shotgun-shack-groove.
