13ECOLOGYECOLOGIEVillars Tourisme a reçu les labels ISO 9001 (qualité) et ISO 14001 (environnement) en décembre 2009. C’est à cette même période que la Table Verte a été créée. Celle-ci regroupe des partenaires de la station sensibles à l’environnement, représentant différents secteurs d’activité et permet d’avancer sur des projets com-muns, de partager des expériences et de motiver d’autres pres-tataires à y adhérer.

De nombreux projets ont vu le jour, comme :La création du label Eco Partenaire, qui permet aux prestataires s’investissant pour l’environnement d’être reconnus. L’adhésion est gratuite, mais nécessite à chaque partenaire de présenter 10 actions d’engagements durables déjà établies dans l’éta-blissement et deux projets annuels, qui font l’objet de contrôles annuels. Le label permet non seulement de sensibiliser le per-sonnel des établissements et les hôtes, mais encore d’optimiser le tri des déchets et des commandes, d’intégrer au maximum des fournitures respectant l’environnement lors de rénovations, constructions, etc…

En contrepartie, les partenaires reçoivent un logo, un autocollant et une charte environnementale, ils sont référencés sur notre site internet et mentionnés lors de communiqués de presse ou de demandes promotionnelles. Treize partenaires ont déjà adhéré et d’autres membres sont actuellement en cours de d’intégration.

L’association française Mountain Riders a lancé « Le Flocon Vert », label destiné aux stations de montagne engagées dans le développement durable. Villars a été certifi ée en tant que pre-mière station pilote pour la Suisse. Cet engagement porte sur 31 critères répartis en 8 thématiques, portant sur les secteurs du transport, des déchets, de l’aménagement, du territoire, de la gouvernance, de l’énergie, de l’eau et du social.

De nombreuses autres actions relatives à l’environnement ont été entreprises et plusieurs autres projets sont en cours de réalisation.

Villars Tourism was awarded the ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment) labels in December 2009. During the same period, the Table Verte was created. This “Green Table” is an association of partners in the resort who are sensitive to the environment and represent different areas of activity, making it possible to move forward with joint projects, share experiences and motivate other service providers to join.

A number of projects have been set up, such as:The creation of the Eco Partenaire label, which provides recognition for service providers who invest in the environment. Membership is free, but requires each partner to present ten activities in the realm of sustainable development already under way in the establishment and two annual projects, which are subject to checking. The label not only helps to create awareness amongst staff and guests in the establishments, but also to optimise recycling and the order process, implementing as many environmentally friendly elements as possible when renovating or building etc. In return, the partners are provided with a logo, a sticker and an environmental charter, referenced on our internet site, and mentioned in press releases or promotional requests. Thirteen partners have already joined and other partners are curently in the process of joining.

The « Flocon Vert » label has been launched by the French association Mountain Riders to distinguish mountain resorts which are committed to sustainable development. Villars was the fi rst pilot-resort to be certifi ed in Switzerland. This label is based on 31 criteria split up in 8 categories such as transportation, waste treatment process, land settlement, governance, energy, water and social matters.

A number of other environmentally friendly activities have been undertaken and several other projects are currently under way.

OLLON & BEX, A STORY OF WINE AND SOILMore than 80% of Swiss wine is grown and matu-red under the sun of the Rhône Valley. Typical examples of local villages, Ollon and Bex, are certainly also amongst the most picturesque. Dominated by the mighty Dents-du-Midi, the two towns are linked by superb vineyards on ter-raced hillsides – extending an open invitation to take a stroll. Les Mines de Sel de Bex, en exploitation depuis près de 350 ans, forment un vaste dédale de galeries, de puits, d’escaliers et de salles souterraines. Après une captivante présentation audio-visuelle, le caractéristique train des mineurs vous conduira au cœur de la montagne salée, première expé-rience inoubliable. Vous découvrirez ensuite à pied un parcours de 800 m fait de galeries et de salles entièrement creusées par la main de l’Homme ainsi que le musée présentant les éléments les plus spectaculaires des diverses techniques d’ex-ploitation du sel utilisées jusqu’à aujourd’hui.

BEX SALT MINESDiscover the impressive work carried out enti-rely by hand by our ancestors in the last Swiss mine still in activity. The Bex Salt Mines, in ope-ration for nearly 350 years, form a vast labyrinth of underground tunnels, shafts, stairways and galleries. After a captivating audio-visual presentation, the characteristic miners’ train will carry you deep inside the salty mountain, creating an unfor-gettable fi rst impression. You’ll then be able to explore on foot 800 metres of tunnels and galle-ries hewn entirely by hand from the rock, as well as the museum exhibiting the most spectacu-lar examples of different salt mining techniques used up to the present day.
