Senior Analyst – Enterprise Risk Management (Jun ‘05 to present) Audit Management

Manage audits on behalf of Western Asset conducted by external audit firms and Legg Mason’s Internal Audit department intended to examine Western Asset’s control environment. Ensure audits are completed without exceptions, as well as, develop process enhancements related to deficiencies highlighted through the audit process. Audits include SOC1, DRS, client audits, and department/process audits across all functions and global offices of the firm.

Project Management Manage cross departmental Business Process Improvements (BPI) projects aimed to improve Western

Asset’s control environment. Projects include enhancements to application and system security, the implementation of operational process improvements, and upgrades to systems that impact critical processes.

Identity Access Management Ensure access to key applications utilized for the trading and settlement of transactions is provisioned

in accordance with job functions while maintaining an internal control environment based on segregation of duties principles. Oversee access to applications, exchange, and security groups for new hires, transfers, and terminated employees.

Risk Reporting/Risk Assessment Produce and analyze executive management reports aimed to identify areas of risk. Ensure reporting

metrics are correlated to Western Asset’s Enterprise Risk Framework and corporate objectives.

Perform data mining analysis of operational errors and other key metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvements or other business needs such as additional resources or training.

Identify sources of risks through the analysis of operational errors, evaluate the effectiveness of controls in relation to those risks, and work with process owners to identify and implement system enhancements and process improvements.

Corporate Insurance (Jun ‘05 to Aug ‘13) Oversaw the renewal process and overall management of Western Asset’s corporate insurance

program. Ensure appropriate coverage is in place across various insurance policies including Errors & Emissions, Fidelity Bond, ERISA Bond, Property, and Commercial General Liability.

Reviewed insurance related provisions in legal documents including Investment Management Agreements to ensure requirements were in compliance and did not present a risk to the Firm.

Investors Bank & Trust (fka BGI) Sacramento, CA (May ‘01 to Sep ‘04)

Supervisor – Shareholder Services (Nov ‘03 to Aug ‘04) Managed the process and execution of client contributions and redemptions for BGI portfolios. Instructed

the delivery of wires for both clients and IBT through various banks and brokers.

Improved operational efficiency and risk exposure by spearheading projects to eliminate manual processes and use of spreadsheets.

Managed cash flows for client accounts to prevent over drafts or un-invested cash. Calculated Money Market trades for the Trading Desk and coordinated the redistribution of interest claims for client accounts.

Team Leader – International Portfolio Accounting (May ‘01 to Oct ‘03) Managed a group of more than 50 accountants in an intense deadline driven environment. Coordinated

the successful delivery of prices for more than 300 funds and 1000 clients on a daily basis.

Designed and produced monthly reporting packages to BGI clients. Reports included detailed analysis on corporate actions, market performance, gain/loss on investments, as well as, tax and fee breakdowns.
