Here we have the first and third floor plans, the northeast and southeast elevations, and the tranverse and longitudinal sections. All of which show Le Corbusier’s 5 points of architecture here before they were showcased at the Villa Savoye, which was built 4 years after the completion of Villa La Roche. La Roche’s portion of the building has since been converted by the Le Corbusier Foundation into a museum of Corb’s design projects.

Villa La Roche JeanneretLe Corbusier-Paris, France

Study By - Ryan Goold

Raoul La Roche was a swiss banker who wished for a house that was architecturally fit to house his collection of paintings by Corbusier’s cousin, Pierre Jeanneret Le

Corbusier was given “freedom of design” because La Roche had sufficient funds to allow the architect full

creative expression. It is only fitting that the painter La Roche was so fond of would be living next door. “The re-lationship between architecture and art was here, in andof itself, loaded with contradictions.” (Le Corbusier 15)
