The Mission offers an opportunity for crews to get into touch with their overseas relatives and friends by telephone or via the Internet. There is a chapel and the pastor/clergyman is present when spiritual guidance is needed. The mission for OCAAM is for all employees, visitors and travellers at Schiphol Airport, to experience the presence of pastoral care and help through the involvement of the Old Catholic and Anglican Churches; the aim is for there to be a place for reflection, where everyone who wishes can pray, meditate and get help. Tenth Sunday after Trinity9 am July 31, AD 2016

Christ Cleanses the Temple, detail, Rembrandt, 1635

When Jesus drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying,

“Would that you, even you, had known on this day

the things that make for peace!...And he entered the temple

and began to drive out those who sold…And he was teaching daily in the temple.

Luke 19:41f Tenth Sunday after Trinity Our worship continues on page 1 of the liturgy booklets.

The Collect:Let your merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of your humble servants; and, that they may obtain their petitions make them to ask such things as shall please you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Old Testament Lesson: Jeremiah 7:9-15

Psalm 17:1-8

Hear a just cause, O Lord; attend to my cry!    Give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit!2 From your presence let my vindication come!    Let your eyes behold the right!3 You have tried my heart, you have visited me by night,    you have tested me, and you will find nothing;    I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.4 With regard to the works of man, by the word of your lips    I have avoided the ways of the violent.5 My steps have held fast to your paths;    my feet have not slipped.6 I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;    incline your ear to me; hear my words.7 Wondrously show[a] your steadfast love,    O Saviour of those who seek refuge    from their adversaries at your right hand.8 Keep me as the apple of your eye;    hide me in the shadow of your wings,

Glory be to the Father and to the Son : and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be : world without end. Amen.

-2-New Testament Lesson: I Corinthians 12:1-11Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

This is the word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Gradual Hymn: 562 Put thou thy trust in God

Gospel Acclamation:Alleluia (x4)We do not live by ’ bread a- ’ lone,but by every word that comes ’ from the • mouth of ’ God.Alleluia  (x4)

-3-The Gospel: St Luke 19:41-47aGospel is announced, we respond: Glory to you, O LordWhen Jesus drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade round you and surround you and hem you in on every side and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer’, but you have made it a den of robbers.”And he was teaching daily in the temple.

After the Gospel is read we say: Praise to you, O Christ
