are now demanding the purported video footage be treated as evidence against the minister and the son. The violence, which took place in Lakhimpur district on Sunday, marks a dramatic escalation in a 10-month-old protest against agriculture reforms that the ruling BJP government passed without any substantive discussion in Parliament last year.

One of the major challenges the Narendra Modi government faced was tackling agrarian distress in the face of slack markets, flawed import and export policies, and demonetization. It came up short. That is why since 2016, farmers across the country have held protests against the government, demanding, among other things, that it implement MS Swaminathan Commission Report’s recommendations and increase minimum support prices for various crops.

The Bharatiya Janata Party came to power promising to double farmer incomes, increase minimum support prices to 1.5 times the cost of production, rationalize agricultural markets, make institutions for procurement more efficient, and promote value additions to food production. Agriculture is the engine of India’s economic growth and the largest employer and the BJP commits the highest priority to agricultural growth,

increase in farmers’ income and rural development.

One of the BJP’s key promises was doubling farmers’ incomes by 2022. In 2016, the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development released a report on how this could be done. The Niti Aayog followed up with its own report in 2017. Yet, in real terms, farm income growth in the October to December 2018 quarter was at its lowest in 14 years. The Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana was

announced in 2015. In February 2019, the Centre told the Lok Sabha that from 2015-’16 to 2017-’18, it created 11,831 organic farming clusters, each of around 500 to 1,000 hectares. Another 20,000 such clusters were added across India in 2018-’19.

Around Rs 800 crore had been released to such clusters since the scheme started, the government added. Much of this money went to Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and

Rajasthan. A report in Down to Earth notes that while India has the highest number of organic farmers in the world, many of them face problems of limited markets, high production costs and confusing certification systems.

The laws, which have been suspended by the country’s supreme court, are intended to overhaul a system that economists call wasteful and ineffective in meeting the country’s needs. But many farmers fear that the overhaul will undermine government-run markets for grain, leading to plunging prices. A majority of people in India depend on agriculture for their livelihood, and the country lacks job growth in other areas to take up the slack.

The farmer, who too had suffered the curse of black money and complicated tax structure and had suffered the same ‘decisiveness’ of the government in demonetization and GST, has good reasons to be wary of the Farm Bill pushed through the convenient cover of the COVID-induced circumstances.

The condition of most farmers is terrible. About 80% of farmers in India are marginal (less than 1 hectare) or small farmers (1–2 hectare) category. Agriculture supports about 60% of employment but contributes only 17% to GDP. Every day, there are reports of Indian farmer suicides from different parts of the country.

editorSpam calls

Peace of mind is a luxury nowadays and the poorest of poor enjoy this luxury. The person who is away from all these modern gadgets always goes to his bed contended and happy. Technology is great, it has made our lives a little better than it was a decade ago but we have traded our peace of mind for that. There was not enough cacophony that the spam calls have also added to it. Almost every service provider spams us with calls enough to get us fuming and annoyed. Even after blocking those numbers, I have no earthly idea how they come up every day with a different number to spam. This is harassment and we have long been mute spectators. I think it is time we knock the law's doors.

Transparent LPG cylinders need of time

Public-sector Indian Oil introduced 5kg free trade LPG (FTL) cylinder conveniently named Chhotu on 11.12.2020 to be available on production of an ID proof. Indian Oil should also implement its long-back

decision to introduce new-look translucent LPG cylinders to replace age-old iron-cast cylinders also to effectively check pilferage of LPG from supplied LPG cylinders. There are always complaints that LPG gas is unauthorisedly taken out of new refilled LPG cylinders to be supplied to consumers. For future, production of new iron-cylinders for LPG should be immediately stopped and even replacing existing old iron-cylinders by transparent ones gradually in a phased manner to start from metro cities.

Net payable price including of all central and local taxes should be rounded in multiples of rupees ten or fifty, because delivery-persons never return balance-money. System will further reduce financial-burden on the exchequer because of LPG subsidy. At least LPG, if not petrol and diesel, can be brought under GST network for uniformity of prices throughout the country.

There should be bus service for students!

The state government has given permission to start the schools. As a result, schools that were closed for nearly eighteen months are reopened. Most of the students from rural areas come to urban areas to study. For this

they depend on ST bus only. Therefore, ST bus service should be started in rural areas. It is financially impossible for the citizens of rural areas to travel daily by private vehicle. For this, it is essential for the government to start ST bus services as per the school schedule. So that, students can attend school on time and effortlessly.

We must not let our guard down though restrictions are being lifted as schools open after 18 months!Schools have reopened after almost

18 months of shutdown & this is a sure sign that life is turning towards normalcy after covid scare rocked the globe which was unprecedented. We have been fortunate enough that our country has two of the biggest vaccine manufacturers on our shores & more than 60 percent of our population has received atleast a single dose of the jab.

However, we must not let our guard down in this fight against covid which is an marathon battle & it would be some months or years before COVID can be completely eradicated. All WHO protocols should be followed even if one is fully vaccinated as the virus is known to mutate after small intervals. Precaution is better than cure & citizens cooperation with the govt is a

must in this fight against covid!- SN Kabra

'India sums upto 12% of World smoking population' (editoritis)

Makes one astonished with this fact. It is a reality that smoking is rampant with even young adults and rarely one leaves the habit of smoking. Government has started printing caution on cigarette packets, showing videos how smoking is injurious to health but it doesn't show required effect on the population. To stop the smoking government, need to stop the production of cigarette and bidis but the tax collection from it, is the main reason for not getting rid of these companies. Finally, the call must be taken by parents to educate children about bad effects of smoking and they themselves should refrain from smoking because generally children learn these habits from home first and then the peer group. Lot of political, emotional will power required to get rid of smoking.

“lthough seen worldwide, it is not Acommon in India. It is moderately contagious and is spread through

direct contact with the mucus, saliva, or faces of an infected person. It typically occurs in small epidemics, usually during the summer and autumn months. Hand, foot and mouth disease is highly infectious and children below the age of 10 are very vulnerable; children above 10 years act as carriers. The disease, resulting in rashes and sores in the mouth, hands, legs and the lower back on some occasions. The virus usually spreads through air when an affected person sneezes or through nasal discharge. It can also spread when the skin rash is filled with pus.

Anyone can get the disease, but children under age 10 are most likely to catch it. You can take steps to ease the symptoms while it runs its course, though. Your child can catch hand-foot-and-mouth through contact with someone who has it, or from something that's been in contact with the virus, like a toy, tabletop, or doorknob. It tends to spread easily in the summer and fall. School going children are likely to get the disease because it is contagious. In a classroom atmosphere or when travelling on a school bus the children are likely to get this contagious infection.

Hand, foot and mouth disease is highly infectious and children below the age of 10 are very vulnerable; children above 10 years act as carriers.”

The silver lining of the contagious disease is that it does not spread to adults unless we come across in direct contact with the infected person's saliva, basically through half eaten food items or water. It spread through schools and day care centres. Not all parents have the luxury of in-laws and parents taking care of their children after school hours and so instead of taking time off from work, they just send sick kids to schools and day care centres. It is unethical but this is the way it goes in metro cities like Mumbai. If we have more flexible workplaces as in foreign countries this might but be an issue and this whole scenario is unfair to everyone including the sick kids.

Your doctor will ask about your child's symptoms and look at any sores or rashes. This is usually enough to decide if it's hand-foot-and-mouth disease with no extra tests. But he might take a throat swab or a stool or blood sample to be sure. He might get a rash on the palms of his hands or the soles of his feet a day or two after the first symptoms appear. This rash may turn into blisters. Flat spots or sores may pop up on the knees, elbows, or buttocks. He could have all of these symptoms, or only one or two. Mouth sores can make it hurt to swallow, so be sure your child gets enough water and calories. Drinking warm water at frequent intervals and gargling with salt water every hour can reduce the rashes to a greater extent. Proper medication and by controlling the body temperature with complete rest can bring about a change in health condition within a couple of days.

Your child should be fever- and symptom-free before he/she goes back to school or day care. Check with your doctor if you aren't sure whether she's still contagious. Ask her school or day care about their policy on when a child can return after illness. Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is not the same as foot-and-mouth disease, which comes from a different virus and only affects animals.

Mumbai will get first ever 7.11 stores

ukesh Ambani the MAsia's richest man is b r i n g 7 - E l e v e n

Inclinations convenience stores to India ; the very first in Mumbai. This adds burgeoning retail empire in the world's only billion people plus consumer market that's open to foreign firms.

Ambani's Reliance Retail Ltd. secured the pact just days after troubled supermarket operator Future Retail Ltd. terminated its own agreement with one of the world's biggest convenience chains. The first 7-Eleven store will open Saturday in a Mumbai suburb, and will be followed by a further "rapid rollout"

starting across India's financial hub Reliance Retail said in a statement Thursday without providing financial details.

Re l i ance s cooped the transaction after indebted Future Retail this week said it ended the agreement it inked with 7-Eleven in 2019 by mutual consent after it was unable to open the brand's stores or pay franchisee fees. Ambani is locked in a bitter court battle with Amazon.com Inc. for the assets of Future Retail, which is one of the biggest brick and mortar chains in India. The move is part of the powerful tycoon's wider ambition to seize India's growing formalized retail space. Reliance is expanding its foothold at a rapid rate, adding 1,500 new stores last year to a

total of nearly 13,000, Ambani said at a shareholders' meeting in June. The shares of Ambani's flagship Reliance Industries rose as much as 1.6% Thursday. "India is the second-largest country in the world and has one of the fastest-growing e conom ie s , " 7 - E l e ven ' s President and Chief Executive Officer Joe DePinto said in the statement. "It's an ideal time for the largest convenience retailer in the world to make our entry into India."

7-Eleven's entry also comes at a fortuitous moment as India enjoys a relative lull of Covid-19 infections after a devastating wave battered the country just months ago. Daily cases are now hovering near a 7-month low and lockdown restrictions have largely been lifted across

t h e c o u n t r y a s I n d i a ' s vacc ina t ion d r i ve ga in s momentum. Many foreign firms have long coveted access to India's market of about 1.4 billion people in a country where discretionary spending in on the rise. However, they have faced considerable hurdles to entry and political opposition given the ubiquity of the kirana store, small-scale mom-and-pop shops that account for about three-quarters of India's retail landscape.

"To make a dent, Reliance will n e e d t o h a v e s i m i l a r penetration over time," said Utkarsh Sinha, managing director of Mumbai-based Bexley Advisors Ltd. "One tailwind in their favor is going to be the market's affinity for brands: as long as they are able

to build it up, they can cause a shift in shopping behavior." The dea l be tween the two companies is a "good fit" that can harness Reliance's digital reach and gives Ambani a "last-mile linkage to the consumer" according to Saloni Nangia, president at retail consultancy Technopak Advisors Pvt.

"The landscape is changing with kiranas also becoming digitally assisted and that's going to be the largest growing segment in India," she added. Ambani's tie-up with 7-Eleven is also another s i gn o f t he i n c rea s i ng stranglehold a handful of d o m i n a n t I n d i a n conglomerates are exerting on India's retail space, as they increasingly act as a gateway to major foreign investment.

consecutive year, been given a high financial capability rating of AA+ by India Rating and Research (IRR), a nationally-renowned credit rating and research agency. NMMC is the only civic body in the country to get such a high rating for seven consecutive years.

The credit rating for 2020-21 points to the financial strength and capability of the civic body. The high rating indicates that NMMC is financially healthy and is capable of repaying loans. Such a rating would help the civic body source funds for its mega projects and also issue bonds. NMMC commissioner Abhijit Bangar said “Navi Mumbai has

been graded high amongst the cities in the country in the Ease of Living Index. While the civic body has been concentrating on providing the best of services to the residents, despite the Covid pandemic, NMMC did an excellent work in collecting taxes and ensured that the civic body has emerged even stronger.”

Dhanraj Garad Chief accounts and finance officer of NMMC said “We have been following

the ̀host to host' project that has ensured that the payment to the suppliers is deposited directly into their accounts. This paperless system has brought about t ransparency and efficiency in the civic body's working. The payments to contractors and civic personnel too are happening on time. NMMC has no outstanding loan or interest with respect to the state government.”

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar was also present there along with the Chief Minister. After offering prayers the Chief Minister extended greetings to citizens on the occasion of the Navratri festival. "It is the responsibility of all to observe health protocols at the places of worship in view of the COVID-19 pandemic" he said. The Chief Minister said he prayed to Goddess Mumba

D e v i t o e r a d i c a t e t h e coronavirus completely. He said the trustees and priests of all places of worship should ensure that devotees follow discipline while offering prayers, and the shrine premises are cleaned and sanitised frequently and proper social distancing is followed.

"We can set an example in this regard," he said. He also praised places of worship like the famous Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai for using QR code and other technologies to facilitate online darshan for devotees. After the first coronavirus wave waned, places of religious worship were reopened in Maharashtra in November last year, but they were closed again for people after the second wave started in the state in March 2021. For long, the opposition BJP had been demanding reopening of temples and other places of worship in Maharashtra. The party staged protests in August in several cities of Maharashtra in support of its demand.

BJP tells TN Govt to opentemples within 10 daysamil Nadu BJP chief K TAnnamalai on Thursday demanded that the state

government lift restrictions on week-end worship at the temples within 10 days and w a r n e d t h a t t h e D M K dispensation's attempt to impose its ideology will result in a backlash from the people.

A c c u s i n g t h e s t a t e government of attempting to impose its ideology on the theists by restricting darshan during weekends, Annamalai insisted that there was "no logic in keeping temples closed from

Fr iday to Sunday c i t ing coronavirus when it had permitted cinema halls to re-open and is getting ready to restart schools for all classes for

children for whom COVID-19 vaccine is yet to be rolled out.

He also charged the state government with using the Centre's advisory on COVID-19 to its advantage."Navarathri celebrations have begun today but the State government has decided to keep the temples closed from Friday to Sunday claiming festivals could become super spreader of the virus. There is no logic in this argument as the Central government's circular on restrictions is purely advisory" Annamalai said.

Indo - ASEAN ties rooted in historySEAN is one of the Amajor hubs for India's g l o b a l e c o n o m i c

engagement and New Delhi would like to re-visit the level of ambition that it has set for the partnership with the South East Asian bloc said External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar told Virtually from new Delhi on Thursday.

Speaking at the INDO-ASEAN business summit Jaishankar noted that India's ties with the ASEAN are rooted in history, geography and culture. "What has energised them in recent years is a growing awareness of the potential they hold for our m u t u a l i n t e r e s t s a n d d e v e l o p m e n t . A s o u r cooperation grew in the course of the last 25 years, new facets and domains emerged for collaboration."

The minister said that the COVID-19 pandemic has provided the backdrop for how most countries approach both their economic policies and have even shaped our way of life. "From the prolonged crisis of the last two years, four areas have come into sharp focus for i n t e r n a t i o n a l b u s i n e s s

cooperation: resilient and reliable supply chains, health s e c u r i t y , d i g i t a l f o r development and green and s u s t a i n a b l e r e c o v e r y. " Jaishankar stated that COVID-19 has brought out many inadequacies in the global health system. And in all of this, the role of businesses is critical."

Crisis can often be the basis of creativity and our endeavour should be to come out of this stronger, the minister added. Underscoring the strides made by India in the field of COVID-19 production, Jaishankar said, "Our global collaborations have enabled us to emerge as a major vaccine production centre for the world. In fact, we have also seen innovative methods of collaboration, including an initiative agreed upon by the Quad countries." He said Covid-19 has also given an additional impetus to the

diversification of the global value chain that was already in progress. "India's campaign for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat or a self-reliant India resonates with our quest to become a democratic and trustworthy partner for global industrial resiliency."

Summing up his speech, the minister said India's economic recovery is impelled by reform in va r ious a reas i nc lud ing m a n u f a c t u r i n g , l a b o u r, agriculture, education, skills and of course, improving the ease of doing business. "We aspire to be a more effective engine of growth and a part of reliable and re s i l i en t supp l y cha in s . International cooperation, especially among businesses will be very much a key to the better world that we all seek. India and ASEAN can surely work together more closely to this end."

20 died & 200 injured in Balochistn earthquake

t least 20 people have Abeen killed and more than 200 wounded

after an earthquake strikes Pakistan's south western province of Balochistan local officials say; with rescue teams attempting to clear debris and gain access to the area.

The 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck as most residents of the Harnai district, about 100km (60 miles) east of the provincial capital Quetta were asleep at just past 3am local time (22:00 GMT) on Thursday confirms United States Geological Survey data. The tremor took place at a depth of about 20 kilometres (12 miles). T h e p ro v i n c i a l d i s a s t e r management authority said at least 200 people were injured. “Rescue officials have reached the scene and are working” Osama bin Ijaz'' a provincial disaster management official told a national news agency. 'A survey of

the damage to the houses and other buildings in Harnai was ongoing' official added.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has “ordered immediate assistance on an emergency basis” to residents of the area following the earthquake. Provincial minister Zia Langove that rescue efforts had been hampered due to landslides caused by the earthquake having blocked roads in the area. “There has been quite a lot of land sliding and teams are currently working to clear the roads to the area” Langove said. 'Rescue officials will be able to conduct a more accurate assessment of the damage once they have access to the area' he adds.

Pakistan's military said some r e s c u e r s h a d r e a c h e d earthquake-hit areas of Harnai and nine of the critically injured had been airlifted to Quetta. Necessary items for food and shelter, as well as army doctors and paramedics were helping civilian officials provide care to those affected by the disaster, the military said in a statement, adding that an urban search and rescue team was being flown from Rawalpindi to speed up and assist in rescue activities.

3 Balkan Forces pushing refugees backroat ia, Greece and CRomania have carried out hundreds of i l legal

refugee pushback operations at the European Union's external borders since early 2020 as part of a “violent campaign” to deny access to asylum a new report alleges.

An Ams te rdam ba sed investigative news organisation Lighthouse Reports, reveal that masked security forces and police units in the three EU member states have repeatedly taken coordinated, clandestine action to prevent asylum seekers from crossing their borders. The allegations add to concerns among rights groups, which have been documenting an intensified use of pushbacks and slammed the EU's alleged complicity. Under international and EU human rights laws, it is i l l e g a l f o r s t a t e s t o automatically expel people w i thout as ses s ing the i r circumstances. EU law also guarantees the right to seek asylum. The investigation by Lighthouse Reports took place o v e r e i g h t m o n t h s , i n collaboration with European media partners including the German news magazine Der Spiegel and French newspaper Libération.

With video footage, satellite

imagery, witness testimony and interviews with more than a dozen serving and former police and coast guard officers they determined that at least 189 people had been illegally denied access to the European asylum system, which they claimed was “a small sample of pushbacks” . L igh thouse Reports documented 11 pushbacks in Croatia, the newest EU member state, between May and September this year at four locations along the country's border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Croatian riot police carried out the pushbacks as part of a national strategy codenamed “Koridor” which is part-funded by the EU, police whistle blowers told the outlet. In June a group of Afghans and Pakistanis requested asylum when they encountered Croatian police but were forced

across the Korana river back into Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the pushback, police allegedly beat the refugees with batons, leaving them with bruises. Al Jazeera was unable to independently verify those claims but undated video footage shared by Lighthouse Reports appears to show several people crossing a river while being beaten by at least two armed individuals dressed entirely in black and wearing balaclavas. Jelena Sesar, Amnes ty In te r na t iona l ' s Balkans researcher said it was “clear” the masked men were Croatian riot police as their un i forms, weapons and equipment were identical to those issued to members of the unit.

“This is the latest evidence that unlawful pushbacks and violence against asylum-seekers and migrants are commonplace at the EU's external borders” Sesar said. “In numerous countries people in search of safety and protection are being met with barbed wire and armed border guards” she told a Media houseadding that the EU's migration policy had “for years now prioritised border security over the rights of people and its fundamental values”.

Taliban struggling for International identity

It is not from lack of effort though the group's leadership has been busy. It has been meeting with officials from the United Nations who assured the Taliban last month that the body will continue its assistance programmes in the country.

However the UN turned down the Taliban's request to have its chosen envoy address

the General Assembly. The group has also met with representatives from the United Kingdom who pushed them on ensuring that British nationals are allowed to leave the country. The UK also raised the issue of women's rights in m e e t i n g s w i t h Ta l i b a n representatives. The Taliban leadership, including figures appearing on international terror lists, also made sure to be present when aid shipments from Qatar, China, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and Uzbekistan arrived at Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 08, 2021AFTERNOON VOICE, MUMBAI 10Opinion

Strong Medium to Become a Powerful nationAhimsa Yatra: Ahimsa Yatra: Ahimsa Yatra:

on-violence is the Nweapon of the strong people. Non-violence

is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. Only the one who has no fear, who is non-violent and committed to values can stand up against the oppressor. If you follow this fact, then you will clearly understand who is fearless and who is fearful in the present time, who is moral and who is corrupt? In the last 300 days, the Indian public has shown unprecedented restraint and self-confidence in spite of the violent, chaotic, undisciplined and undemocratic activities of the farmers' movement against the three agricultural laws. Be it the recent violence in Lakhimpur Kheri or the repeated Bharat Bandh, it has become a cause of trouble for the people. Highways were blocked, protesters blocked rail traffic on railway tracks. Life became chaotic, the life of the common man did not stop in the midst of troubles, and bitter experiences were felt. The extremity of violence was also seen again and again.

Whereas non-violence is the most powerful weapon, if there is complete honesty in it. But whether there is a peasant movement in the country or other similar political movements, the occurrence of violence in them has become a cause of great concern. Situations of violence and terrorism have created instability and fear in life. The extremity of violence in this holy land of non-violence is unimaginable. In the country of Mahavira, Buddha, Gandhi and Acharya Tulsi, making violence a weapon of selfishness is a matter of serious concern. In this complex environment, Acharya Shri Mahashraman's undertaking of non-violent lifestyle and its training through the special undertaking of Ahimsa Yatra and motivating them to become non-violent by conducting interacting campaigns among people of different religion, caste, class, sect is not only relevant; rather, it is a necessity of national life.

Acharya Shri Mahashraman started the non-violence journey on 9th March 2014 from the Red Fort ramparts of the capital Delhi. He spread

the message of non-violence and peace by traveling around seventy thousand kilometers across nineteen states and three neighboring countries. Acharya Mahashraman's determination, strong morale and self-confidence made this campaign a successful event. This journey of Acharya Mahashraman is impeccable and reached in Naxalite and Maoist areas in the adverse circumstances of earthquake, corona in Nepal. This is a sign of true determination. It is a fortunate coincidence that the closing ceremony of this Yatra will be held in the capital Delhi on 27 March 2022.

Acharya Mahashraman's journey to non-violence in the remote areas of the country - including neighboring countries like Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka, Assam, Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh etc. and special emphasis on non-violence proved worthwhile for the establishment. Because today the country and the world is terrified and terrorized by the great deluge of violence. Caste issues, communal hatred and lack of primary necessities of life are the reasons which are promoting violence and Acharya Mahashraman is trying to control these reasons. One of his innovative ventures in these various endeavors is 'Ahimsa Yatra'. Today Ahimsa Yatra is the only movement which is contemplating the interest of the entire human

race. To implement the plan of non-violence, he has chosen the powerful medium of padyatra. 'Charaiveti-Chariveti Charan Vai Madhu Vindati' has become a special thread of his life.

Acharya Mahashraman represents the non violence in such a wonderful unbelievable manner which has been illuminated in the past by Mahavira, Buddha, Gandhi, Acharya Bhikshu, Acharya Tulsi and Acharya Mahapragya. Acharya Mahashraman is giving a new vision to this fading tradition of the past. This new vision can be called the beginning of a new man, a new world, a new era. He is unique and shows a shiny picture of the spiritual rainbow. We see him like a banyan tree which gives a feeling of coolness and humanity to the entire community. In this way, Acharya Mahashraman made the memories of the past as the basis for the initiation of his image, while his present effort and future dreams are also becoming a part of it. When he casts the light of his transparent eyes on the small matters of life, it seems as if the rays of the sun spread on the foggy road. Changes of the mind are removed and the cloudless sky has risen. Have you ever seen a plaintiff from above? On rainy days, the valleys often look like a bowl full of clouds, and nothing is visible. Then suddenly a wind blows and sweeps away all the clouds and one can see the

glowing green color of the trees. Just like the wind are the words and efforts of Acharya Mahashraman. The clouds of non- violence, negativity have disappeared under the aura of his shine.

Acharya Mahashraman explored every aspect of the development of human consciousness. From the tradition of Shri Krishna, Shri Ram, Mahavir, Buddha, Jesus as well as many saints of the Indian spiritual sky - Adi Shankaracharya, Kabir, Nanak, Raidas, Meera etc. He did a wonderful job. There is no such dimension of life which has remained untouched by his discourses and thoughts. He shed detailed light on the esoteric secrets of Yoga, Tantra, Mantra, Yantra, Sadhana, Dhyana etc. Also his revolutionary life-view on many subjects like politics, art, science, psychology, philosophy, education, family, society, poverty, population explosion, environment, violence, ethnicity, corruption, political criminalization, feticide and world crisis of inflation is impeccable. When his series of discourses based on Uttaradhyayan and Shrimad Bhagavad Gita came out, he ushered in a new revolution in the spiritual world. Like Uttaradhyayan by a Jainacharya, it is not only surprising but also inspiring to correctly interpret the revered text of the Sanatan tradition, the Gita. That is why Acharya Mahashraman is popular and respected among the masses

as the Messiah of humanity. He is such a saint, for whom the distinction of sect and scripture does not become a hindrance. His programs, thoughts and discourses are for the benefit of the common man. People of every caste, class, region and sect have been benefiting from his life-philosophy and personality.

With the sound of his voice, someone may fill millions and crores with the passion of spiritual love and make them realize that this universe is not as much as we have seen - where there are others ahead of the stars - in today's era, this voice is Acharya Mahashraman It's the same. Mahashramanji has spoken a lot and is speaking and the whole world has heard and is listening - some by taking heart and some by being faithful. But his voice is echoing everywhere. But whatever he has said, I think the only squeeze is that the man should come to know about his reality. In the evening, when the clouds bloom with many colors in the sky, I see the movement of emotions, in the waves of the ocean, in the trees, in the wind – expressions, expressions and only expressions. Listening to Acharya Mahashraman is also like giving an opportunity to the heart to pass through many gestures for innumerable people like me. This voice is the need of our time; Acharya Mahashraman is the need of our time. The foundation for the construction of Acharya Mahashraman is not based on luck, but with self-confidence, effort, dedication and brilliant determination. We should become conscious in making the dreams of society and nation come true, this is the inspiration of Acharya Mahashraman and it is auspicious and preferable for us to make this inspiration the goal of life. This can solve problems like the peasant movement and other problems of the nation.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 08, 2021AFTERNOON VOICE, MUMBAI 11Different Strokes

Will follow Sharukh Khanin the footsteps of Sunil Dutt

hortly after Shahrukh Khan's Sson, Aryan Khan was taken into custody for attending a drug

party on a cruise, it made instant headlines and became a matter of national debate and discussion. It is being said that Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan did not bring up their son Aryan Khan properly in order for him to emerge as a better and responsible citizen. Of course, at the moment such discussions aren’t right. For now, the entire nation expects Shahrukh Khan to let the law take its course. It is obvious that if Aryan is not found guilty of any crime, all charges will be cleared, then he will be released and free to go.

Shahrukh Khan is undoubtedly one of the most popular and distinguished personalities of India. The entire nation recognises and respects him as an actor, performer, and artist. His ancestral roots are connected to a family of freedom fighters. His father, Mr. Taj Muhammad Khan was a freedom fighter. Under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Muslim League's dream of a separate Islamic nation was fulfilled on 14 August 1947. However, there were several Muslims like Mr. Taj Mohammad Khan who did not accept the newly formed country of Pakistan forged by Jinnah. Despite, being a Muslim, he refused to become a citizen of an Islamic country and to relinquish India as his motherland. That is why he left Pakistan and found his way back to India. Mr. Taj Mohammad Khan was a

devoted disciple of Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Khan, who was also well known as ‘Frontier Gandhi’. He preferred to be a citizen of a secular country like India rather than an Islamic nation like Pakistan. Therefore, how significant a family Shahrukh Khan comes from is clearly understood. It would be a gross mistake to question his unwavering patriotism. During the Kargil war, in the early 2000s, Sharukh Khan donated Rs. 25 lakh to the then Prime Minister of India, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.

However, prior to Shahrukh Khan, many well-known celebrities have been put to shame due to the antics of their spoilt children. Gandhi Ji's eldest son, Harilal Gandhi never had a cordial and loving relationship with his father. He had deep-rooted differences with Bapu on several issues. He wanted to go to Britain to pursue his higher education and also aspired to become a barrister like his father. But Bapu did not approve of Harilal's idea. Due to all these reasons, the bridge between him and Bapu continued to widen. It is said that Harilal indulged in illicit practices like prostitution and drugs.

A few years ago, a film called, 'Gandhi, My Father,' which illuminated the complexities of the discordant relationship between Mahatma

Gandhi and his rebellious elder son, Harilal was released. The film 'Gandhi, My Father' displayed the constant battle of ideals between them and is not the story of Mahatma Gandhi as the “Father of the Nation”, but the story of Harilal and his father Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi. Gandhiji did not patronize and protect his son Harilal for his wrong and felonious actions. And due to his impartial judgment and honourable

actions he became an ideal of the

nation.Sadly, the same cannot be said in

the case of the famous film actor, producer, and director, Sunil Dutt, who had proved to be weak on this front. His son, Sanjay Dutt was one of the culprits responsible for the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts. In the series of bomb blasts that terrorised Mumbai, 270 innocent civilians were killed and hundreds were left handicapped for life. Properties worth hundreds of crores were destroyed. Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, was rendered paralyzed for several days. In the wake of those blasts, Mumbai never had the bright and fearless life it once was.

March 12, 1993, was a day of great loss and sorrow, the ‘Mumbai Terror Attack' was categorised by a series of bomb blasts in many places. When those horrific blasts took place the commissioner of Mumbai Police was M.M Singh. The government in power may have been Congress but the police commissioner was a tough and resilient officer. He had once said that if Sanjay Dutt had informed his father Sunil Dutt about the possession of weapons, there would have been no blasts in Mumbai. He said that Sunil Dutt would have definitely disclosed the information to the police. But Sanjay Dutt did not do it. Alas! If Sanjay Dutt had told the appropriate information to his father, Mumbai would have been saved, hundreds of innocent saves would have been spared and thousands of crores of

rupees would not have been destroyed.

The case related to the accused of the Mumbai Terror Attack went on for a long time in the Supreme Court. After multiple case hearings, the Supreme Court found Sanjay Dutt guilty. Despite Sanjay Dutt giving all possible arguments in his defense and having hired the best bigshot lawyers, who were paid in lakhs to defend him, their arguments were outright rejected by the Court.

Subsequent to this, the Supreme Court sentenced Sanjay Dutt to 6 years of rigorous imprisonment. Sanjay Dutt was convicted of the crime of procurement of illegal guns and weapons from Abu Salem and Riyaz Siddiqui, possession and finally attempting to destroy them after the blasts and riots. Based on the evidence presented in the court, these weapons were part of the same arsenal that was procured by Pakistani terrorists to be used during the bomb blasts and attack on Mumbai. In his statement in the court, Sanjay Dutt said, 'I was worried about the safety of my family, so this was the reason for keeping these illegally smuggled weapons. I was terrified and on the advice of some people, I did it ’.

Unfortunately, actor-turned-Congress leader and then a minister in the UPA government, Sunil Dutt also tried hard to save his son. His biased conduct was not accepted by most of the people across the country. On one hand, he talked about peace and brotherhood, and on the other hand, he was trying everything possible to save his son trapped in all sorts of serious charges.

Now, it is time for Shahrukh Khan to also set his example. His best course of action will be to adopt a neutral attitude in all of these matters and allow the law to do justice to Aryan. If he does this, then the respect the country has for him will only amplify. As of now, the whole country has sympathy for Shahrukh Khan and empathizes with those parents whose children have fallen victims to drugs.

Sadly, the same cannot be said in the case of the famous film actor, producer, and director, Sunil Dutt, who had proved to be weak on this front. His son, Sanjay Dutt was one of the culprits responsible for the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.

SRK is good father of a disciplined boy

– Shatrughan Sinha

The Shotgun of Hindi film Industry has backed up the Mannat Dad and

Son. Shatrughan Sinha with his political acting tried to cover up the Khan family. Calling the lack of solidarity for Shah Rukh Khan in his hour of need "deplorable" the Abey Khamosh of Shotgun Sinha has condemned the attempts to pull down Badshah Khan image by proving him a uncaring father.

"They are pulling out clips from a 20-year-old interview where Shah Rukh is clearly being jokey" Sinha told an E- Journalist. 'I don't know Shah Rukh that well. But I do know he is a good father. All those who are now condemning him for spoiling his son should look homewards to see if their own children are doing exactly the right thing all the time. When you are young, you are

reckless. No amount of parental monitoring can stop your child from doing what he or she wants to. I've been through that phase of youthful defiance and I know monitoring my children's every move will make them rebellious. There are people out there who are waiting to make an example out of people in the limelight. It's almost as if they get a sadistic pleasure in seeing celebrities suffer. I believe Shah Rukh's son Aryan is a well-behaved disciplined boy.'

”I am not saying he should be treated specially because of who he is. But please don't make an example of him just because of he is. Let the laws of the land take their course; the best way to deal with the

defiant streak in your children is to tell

them what is right and wrong and then let them be. I think Shah

Rukh has done that.

Why are we putting the boy through a media trial? Don't hold his privileged upbringing against him.”

No Time to Die will finally unfurl

in more than 4,400 cinemas across the U.S. and Canada on Friday after being delayed more than 18 months because of the pandemic. Accurate projections are almost impossible, considering moviegoing is still impacted by COVID-19.

Tracking suggests that MGM and EON's tentpole will clear at least $60 million in its domestic launch; more bullish analysts believe the number could be closer to $70 million if not higher considering that Sony's Venom: Let There Be Carnage came in $25 million to $30 million ahead of expectations last weekend when opening to a pandemic-era best $90 million.

There are major contrasts between the two films. The Bond franchise been buoyed by older adults a demo that has been far more reluctant to

return to theatres because of COVID-19. Only 9 percent of Venom 2's opening weekend audience was 45 and older compared to 33 percent for the last Bond film, Spectre. Additionally No Time to Die runs a hefty two hours and 43 minute, reducing show times and making it the longest entry in the pantheon. Yet No Time to Die could easily outperform tracking. Last week, it started off overseas with a stellar $121 million from its first 54 international markets (that doesn't include China, where it rolls out on Oct. 29. The nostalgia factor is running high, considering the 25th Bond installment marks Daniel Craig's fifth and final

turn as the storied British spy. And, as the box office shows signs of a recovery, No Time to Dieis arguably the first all-audience tent pole that's not a superhero movie to hit the big screen since COVID-19 forced theatres to

shut down in late March of last year. Directed by Cary Fukunaga the event pic is being distributed domestically by United Artists Releasing and internationally by Universal.

The cast also includes Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Christoph Waltz, along with franchise newcomers Rami Malek, Ana de Armas and Lashana Lynch. In North America, No Time to Die will be playing in 4,407 theaters as of Friday the widest footprint of any Bond pic following Thursday previews in select theatres and special Wednesday night screenings in some IMAX locations.

iger, starring Vijay LDeverakonda and Ananya Panday was already

mounted as a big pan-India film, However, it just got way bigger a couple of days ago when the mega-announcement was made that former boxing World Heavyweight Champion, Iron Mike Tyson, the man with several knockout victories in the ring against some of the toughest opponents, and arguably the most recognised boxer in the world after Muhammad Ali, would be joining the cast in an extended cameo, where he's slated to take on the lead star of Liger. However, it's no secret that someone will have to dub his lines in Hindi and the other regional languages for the pan-India film which is where Nandamuri Balakrishna's name has cropped up for the Telugu version.

So, how veracious are the reports of Nandamuri Balakrishna dubbing for Mike Tyson in the Telugu version of Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger Apparently, they're completely false. Sources close to the unit of Liger have confirmed that there's not even an iota of

truth and any report claiming so is completely baseless. As per the source Balayya'a voice intonations wouldn't suit Mike Tyson's demeanor one bit and come across as a complete mismatch hence the Liger team didn't pursue the idea at all after thinking about it for a fleeting moments. Liger is

written and directed by Puri Jagannadh and is also produced by him along with Karan Johar and Charmme Kaur. Besides Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, it also features Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy and Makarand Deshpande in pivotal supporting roles.
