AFTERNOON VOICE, MUMBAI

Babasaheb Purandare - Most Loved And Hated

Historian Of Maharashtraaharashtra lost a most beloved Mhistorian who reinvented Shivaji era for 7 long decades.

Babasaheb Purandare was a very learned historian from our state. And had the Maharashtra government taken it seriously, he would have got Bharat Ratna by now. He deserved it too. Any person who knows a little about the politics of Maharashtra knows that criticizing Babasaheb was politically motivated. The politics was about the castes. The problem being the fact that Babasaheb, sadly for them, was a Brahmin. Then the Maratha dominant politics could not digest a Brahmin representing the history of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. What can you expect from frail, pathetic souls whose only reason of existence seems to be seeing castes in people's surnames? Lastly (and understandably) that is all that they are capable of seeing and understanding. Reading his books requires a lot of effort and some amount of intellect.

The approach of the opposition was that there is more fiction than fact in Babasaheb Purandare's rendition of the life of Shivaji, though there are enough signs which show an anti-Brahmin element (Babasaheb Purandare is a Brahmin) in the whole issue. Some political groups had claimed that Chatrapati Shivaji and his mother Jijabai had been maligned in Purandare's work. These groups, especially the Sambhaji Brigade, seem to have grown to consider themselves as the de facto protectors and promoters of Shivaji's work and Maratha history. Sambhaji Brigade also blamed Babasaheb Purandare for causing confusion over Shivaji's birth date.

It is interesting to note that the Sambhaji Brigade has always tried to downplay the role of Dadoji Konddeo (a Brahmin) in the education and grooming of Shivaji, and that of Sant Ramdas (also a Brahmin) who was hailed as Shivaji's political guru - and both have been featured favourably in Babasaheb Purandare's work. The removal of Dadoji Konddeo's statue from Lal Mahal, Pune (where Shivaji grew up) sometime around 2010 by them is an example of the intensity of their opposition. They are also openly and vocally anti-Brahmin in other issues and on the Internet.

Political workers that had been protesting against Babasaheb Purandare also filed a PIL in the Bombay High Court, in protest when the Maharashtra g o v e r n m e n t d e c i d e d t o a w a r d Maharashtra Bhushan to him. However, the Bombay High Court, dismissing the public interest litigation, calling it a "publicity stunt", ruled that the petition lacked "substance" and fined the petitioners Rs 10,000 for wasting the court's time.

Babasaheb ( Balwant) Moreshwar Purandare was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award on 25 January 2019. His works are mostly based on the events related to the life of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the 17th-century founder of the Maratha Empire; as a result he is termed as Shiv-Shahir ("Shivaji's bard"). He is mostly known for his popular play on Shivaji Jaanta Raja which was popular not only in Maharashtra but also in Andhra Pradesh and Goa. Purandare has also studied the history of the Peshwas of Pune. He is also known for his significant

contribution along with Madhav Deshpande & Madhav Mehere as senior party leaders in the early-1970s of Shiv Sena along with Balasaheb Thackeray. In 2015, he was awarded the Maharashtra Bhushan Award, Maharashtra's highest civilian award.

Purandare had started writing stories related to the period of Shivaji's reign at a very young age, which were later compiled and published in a book titled "Thinagya" ("Sparks"). His other works

include books titled Raja Shiva-Chatrapati and Kesari, and a book on life of Narayanrao Peshwa. But the most well-known of his works is the drama, Jaanata Raja, a widely popular play on Shivaji published and first staged in 1985. Since then the drama has been staged over 1000 times in 16 districts of Maharashtra, Agra, Delhi, Bhopal, and the United States. Originally written in Marathi, this work was later translated into Hindi. This drama is performed by over 200 artists, as well as elephants, camels and horses. Generally the performance of this drama begins around Diwali each year. For his works in the field of drama, he was awarded the Kalidas Samman by the Madhya Pradesh government for the year 2007–08.

With time, people have matured and have moved away from caste based politics, though there are still few anti-social elements present that are almost negligible. However, Marathi Brahmins themselves must also share some of the blame for all the attacks on Purandare. Many such incidents give enough evidence to demonstrate how furtively some members of the Brahmin sub-castes were engaged in trying to prove their imagined superiority over other sub-castes. Given the politically engineered anti-Brahmin sentiment in Maharashtra, it would have been wise for the Brahmin sub-castes (i.e. Chitpavan, Saraswat, Deshastha, Karhade etc.) then to support each other rather than try to score points over one another. Meanwhile, we lost one legend, he was one of his kind.

Dr.Vaidehi

Perhaps the fact that one of the most eminent historians to document and

reintroduce Shivaji's life happened to be a Brahmin might have irritated

them. Leaving this mudsling aside, no one can refute his enormous work. He is a brilliant historian and has brought

history into every household of Maharashtra.

Letters to the

editorFood for thought

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met His Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican City in Rome on October 30, 2021 and even invited him to India after the pandemic ends. Modi’s meeting with the Pope is only an election gimmick to lure Christians so that they may vote for the BJP in the next election.

On one hand, Modi meets the Pope and even invites him to India, while on the

other hand, a large number of Christians are being attacked in the country and their places of worship desecrated.

During the meeting, Pope Francis gave a hidden message to the Prime Minister from the book of Isaiah Chapter 32, verses 1 to 8 as a brass gift to make him understand his job as the ruler of the country. I am sure the PM must have not understood even a little bit of what the Pope said, or else why would he harass Christians who are peace-loving and kind.

Our country to receive the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award

Indian senior men's football team captain Sunil Chhetri should be congratulated for becoming the first footballer of our country to receive the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, which is the highest award for a sportsperson in India. Chhetri has already won two other very prestigious awards named the Padma Shri and the Arjuna earlier. It's really a stupendous achievement of Chhetri's illustrious career. For this feat, again, heartiest congratulations to the football-great.

- Sourish Misra

Cricketers are not Robotsand bio bubble

Ravi Shastri's comment to an television channel that Kohli may quit captaincy in other formats as well was unwarranted. Records speaks for itself & our country has done exceedingly well under Virat Kohli's captaincy till date. Kohli has led his team with example & runs along with tons from his blade are testimony of the fact that he enjoys being a leader which has proved

fruitful for Team India over the years.

Overdose of cricket on account of IPL before T-20 World Cup was the reason for our teams failure in the shortest format of cricket. Cricketers are not Robots & bio bubble in times of COVID leads to fatigue which was clearly visible in the performance of our team. Scheduling of matches should be looked into by BCCI & there should be ample gap between tournaments as well as series for players to recoup to be energised before important games!

- S. N. Kabra

Cricket Is A Religion In IndiaIt is true that both Pakistan and

New Zealand outclassed us in the early part of T-20 World Cup and that in turn made us pay heavily to fancy our chances for the knockout stage of an ICC sponsored Tournament. Having failed to achieve a facile win over Pakistan our morale came down drastically and that was reflected in our next outing against New Zealand to just touch 110 runs and lose with a big margin and that caused us heavy

leeway in net run rate and were made to chase weaker teams to bring back our lost glory. But in the end that could not help out the cause and thereby the lost the final fling in a prestigious tournament. That does not warrant such a huge punishment of going to the level to extend rape threat to cricketer's child. In India we take things very seriously even though winning and losing are part and parcel of the game. It is a timely warning to the cricketing loving public to keep away from such silly antics on social media to air your anger and pay the price for that. Cricket is a religion in India but that does not mean we break the morals and go to a mad way of expressing your anger on our captain.

- M. R. Jayanthi

“What do we teach people of our religion? It is important to pay attention to this. What is being taught, is it being taught in the interest of the country and society? Or against it? Nation always comes first and then religion.”

Jayesh Rane

here is tension in some districts Tof Maharashtra over the alleged communal riots in Tripura.

Spreading unrest in the society by raising issues like allegedly hurting religious sentiments, as well as saying that injustice is always happening with one community only. In such cases, vandalism of public property, arson in shops, pelting of stones, use of weapons etc. are rampant. Chaos creates an atmosphere of fear in the society. Such people want the society to be afraid of their terror and they just keep watching whatever damage they do. There is no point in venting your anger on each other. What you are angry about ? There should be a positive interaction with him. Efforts should be made for this. If this is done then the caste-religion-cult conflicts in India can be controlled. But no interest is shown in communicating. What do we teach people of our religion? It is important to pay attention to this. What is being taught, is it being taught in the interest of the country and society? Or against it? Nation always

another district or state. Be careful for this. This is what happens in India. How can peace be maintained elsewhere by taking timely measures? It must be seen. Chaos is not the solution to any problem. This creates social division.

Large crowds accumulate in a short time, they have objectionable material, how does it suddenly come to them? This is the question people ask. Who maintains social peace? The media is well aware of this. Wherever there is chaos and if you are in the same place at that time then the family members must be worried. When will it calm down? There is uncertainty about this, so we have to stay where we are. There are many difficulties to be faced in such cases. Come forward to help others. This is what people have learned in Corona period and this is what Indian culture teaches along with humanity. Society does not tolerate chaos and those who spread it. It is the responsibility of every citizen to be vigilant and cooperate with the police so that further problems can be avoided.

comes first and then religion. It is wrong to tarnish the name of the country we live in by promoting religion. There is a nation, therefore we are all.

Society will never tolerate any misdeed that disturbs social peace. Society on the other hand likes those who work hard for social peace and ethnic harmony. When chaos is created on any subject and those who are hurt by it have the same question, what is our fault in this? Why do they step on the belly of another by adopting a crooked path without accepting the path of democracy for protest? People have to work hard to make up for the loss. Jobs in Lockdown - Business conditions were very fragile. This Diwali, crowds of people flocked to all the markets of the country for shopping. On the occasion of this festival, all the shopkeepers, big and small, got financial relief. Now that the situation has returned to normal, shops have to close due to chaos. This is especially worrisome for the business community. An incident will not affect

BBC launches 'Disinformation Unit' in townBC News has launched a Bnew 'Disinformation Unit' in Mumbai to uncover,

analyse and report on the spread of fake news. According to a statement a team of dedicated journal ists wi l l focus on highlighting false information, debunking viral social media content and investigating how and why it spreads. The team will provide audiences with useful tips and information on how to spot 'fake news' and prevent it from spreading further. Audiences will also be able to report on any fake news t h e y t h i n k s h o u l d b e investigated by messaging the BBC's Disinformation Unit. This newly launched unit in India is an extension of the BBC's continued commitment to combat misinformation and is a

part of the BBC Global Disinformation unit, which includes experienced journalists based in Africa and the UK.

“Disinformation is a global issue that disregards boundaries of languages, platforms, cultures, and age-groups. Unchecked news can affect health, society and democracy" said BBC Disinformation editor Rebecca Skippage. "This new team of dedicated journalists will allow us to shine a light on misleading information and help people decide for themselves what to believe and what to mistrust.” Simultaneously a scheme called BBC Young Reporter India has rolled out 'media awareness workshops' in schools across India to help young people think critically about the media they consume,

recognise facts from fake and pause before sharing potentially m i s l ead ing and ha rmfu l information. The workshops are being delivered in partnership with Internews and DataLeads teams. This initiative will deliver training to seven thousand students across hundred schools in India by the end of the year. Over five thousand have already attended the workshops in more than forty-five Indian cities, said the statement. “The pandemic has shown the appall ing damage that misinformation can cause. Fake cures, anti-vax messaging and conspiracy theories have been widely shared, often by people thinking they are doing the right thing as neighbours and friends" stated BBC Beyond Fake News head Marie Helly. "It is imperative that

the next generation become responsib le c i t izens who understand the difference between fact and fake and can think critically about the media they consume.”

“ Tr u s t , a c c u r a c y a n d impartiality are at the heart of the BBC. I am delighted by the quality of the students and trainers who are working together with the BBC to counter the dangers of misinformation here in India" Helly further said. The workshops are building a network of young p e o p l e w h o c a n s p o t disinformation using a BBC fact-checking technique called 'Real' and educating the students to think analytically like journalists. “The workshop actually helped the students to navigate and take the right direction in the digital world. It has been a relevant

training session to learn the skill of identifying the authenticity of the news which are at the fingertips of the students in the changed scenario" commented SRS English Medium School (Brahmavar) Karnataka Principal Abhilasha S. "The BBC Young Reporter workshop has been immensely enlightening and enriching for the students. The webinar was impactful enough to generate awareness amongst the students to be discerning users of social media," said Delhi Public S c h o o l ( N a z i r a ) A s s a m headmistress Meenakshi Duarah. "The students were exposed to a lot of significant things to be kept in mind while using social media. Apart from the students, the teachers who attended the webinar also found it beneficial for the students."

NASA: Rover finds the 'Zero mile of Mars'ASA Mars rover roughs Nup a rock, peers at 'something no one's

ever seen'. Let's pause for a moment to appreciate the fact that we have freakin' machines on freakin' Mars and they're not just looking around. They're exploring, drilling, packing pieces of Mars away and rubbing the surface off of untouched rocks. The latest visual marvel comes from NASA's Perseverance rover where it's examining an intriguing layered rock in the ''Jezero Crater.'' The rover used an abrading tool on the end of its robotic arm to rough up the surface of the rock with an eye on deciding whether it's worth collecting a sample from it. The Crater is located at a surface

that's a mile flat to be the only one over there.

"Peering inside to look at something no one's ever seen. I've abraded a small patch of this rock to remove the surface l a y e r a n d g e t a l o o k underneath" the rover team tweeted on Tuesday. "Zeroing in on my next target for sampling Mars. "The phrase "something no one's ever seen" is profound. NASA has been landing machines on Mars since the 1970's but each mission reveals new images and i n f o r m a t i o n . S o w h e n Perseverance rubs the surface off a rock that may tie into Mars' history of water it's showing us something unique. It's a glimpse at a previously unexplored place.

Eagle eyed Mars fans noticed something slightly goofy in a close-up of the abraded area on the rock. If you zoom in you'll see a little white triangle. There are other whitish specks littered around the circle, so it's likely the triangular piece is just a random bit of the rock.

"Layered rocks like this often form in water and can hold c lues about what the i r environment used to be like" the rover team tweeted last week. If the rock continues to beckon, Perseverance may soon be busting out its sampling equipment. That never before seen rock might one day be sitting in a lab on Earth.

The MARS civilization came to an end After a Deep Impact from below the surface which caused a toretial devastating rain that lasted for years which caused a Planet flood. Although no Human beings existed their Mythical and paranormal Space groups say that Homind have flung up to Earth from the RedPlanet. The More the films come and Documentaries

come; the more research is analysed which also shows a fiction around Mars. In Indian culture Mars is considered as the brother of Planet Earth who is the only She planet in the Solar System. Curiosity is quenching and its thirst gets a self -evidence on Google pics that are leaked intentionally for reac t ions f rom Masses . Although there is no Alien sight of flying saucers there the Curiosity rover has sended ample of pics filling the Google Space Images for Life on Mars. Now the scientists around the Globe bue to this Crater Epi Hole are planning towards a Centrum Terraforming project on Mars. Which can be a Second home for Human Beings.

UK must ready for war with Russia – British General

he outgoing head of the TUK's armed forces has said the military will have

to be ready for war with Russia after recent tensions in Eastern Europe but he does not believe Vladimir Putin really wants “hot war” with the west.

Gen Sir Nick Carter said Russia was now a greater threat in Eastern Europe than it was when he started in the role eight years ago as he gave a series of interviews before his departure as chief of the defence staff at the end of the

month.He said he “distinctly hoped”

there would not be a war with Russia and he did not believe the country wanted a physical war but NATO would have to be ready. He spoke amid tensions on the border between Poland and Russia's ally Belarus over refugees stranded in camps as well as signs that Russian troops could be massing along the border with Ukraine.

Liz Truss the UK foreign secretary, this weekend urged Putin to intervene in the “shameful manufactured migrant crisis” unfolding at the border. Western nations have accused Belarus of attracting people wanting to come to the EU to the border while Poland has been rebuffing their efforts to enter. The former MI6 officer Christopher Steele has said he believes Moscow thinks it is at war with the UK and its allies.

Don't want conflict with any nation, including India:

Taliban FM

fghanistan does not Awant conflict with any country, including India

the war-torn country's Taliban-led interim government's acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has said.

Muttaqi made the comments while talking to BBC Urdu, which was also his first ever interview with a female journalist, who asked him about Afghanistan relations with New Delhi under the Taliban government.

"We do not want Afghanistan to have a conflict with any other country or to have challenges that could affect our nation. Therefore we will continue to work on this issue" he said.

When asked whether there was a reaction from China or Pakistan on Afghanistan having close ties with India, instead of a direct answer Muttaqi referred to recent meetings in Moscow.

"When we participated in the Moscow conference, the representatives of India, Pakistan and several other countries were also present. We had a positive conversation and will hopefully not oppose any country," he said.

Polish military police stay on guard at the

Poland/Belarus border near Kuznica.

8 Easy Ways to Style Wavy Hair

Crew cutChoose this short, low-

maintenance style to control your waves. If you don’t want to maintain or style your hair every day, then a crew cut works perfectly. Let your hair go natural since you may not even notice the waves in your hair if it’s short enough. If you still have a few stray hairs to tame, just apply a fingertip-sized amount of matte pomade or styling cream and brush it through your hair.

• Crew cuts work best if you have thick hair.

• Taper the length of the hair on the side of your head to give your crew cut a more prominent appearance.

Side partComb short or medium

locks to one side for a sleek and clean look. Get your hair damp so it’s a little easier to work with. Use a wide-toothed comb to find your hair’s natural part. Blow-dry your hair as you comb to shape it toward the side and front of your head. Rub some toning putty or pomade in your hair with your fingers to keep it from getting frizzy or poofy throughout the day.

• Use a blow dryer as you comb your hair if you want to straighten out your waves.

• If your hair still doesn’t stay in place, apply some hairspray to help it hold.

FadeKeep your hair longer on

top of your head for a trendy, modern style. Work a matte styling cream or pomade into the longer hair on top of your head. Use your fingers or a comb to sweep your hair forward so the sides stay clearly defined. From there, you can comb your hair up to add more volume or leave your hair down on your forehead for a relaxed look.

• Fades pair well with other longer styles, such as fringes, quiffs, and pompadours.

• You can either start from bare skin or with any hair length that’s shorter than what you have on the top of your head.

help your hair stay in the same shape throughout the day, use a blow dryer while you’re styling.

• Quiffs can also help hide any thinning hair on the crown of your head.

• If you have a long and thin face, keep the hair on the sides of your head a little longer and avoid adding volume or height to the top of your head.

PompadourTry out this striking style

to add some volume to medium or long hair. Let your hair dry naturally or blow-dry your hair in the opposite direction that it grows for the same effect. When it’s dry, work a soft pomade, sculpting clay, or styling cream from the roots to the tips of your hair with a comb. Then, bring your hair straight up and pull it back to your scalp so it has some additional height and volume.

• Use hairspray when you finish styling your hair if you’re worried about it losing its shape throughout the day.

• If you have thick heavy hair, use thinning scissors to remove some of the weight on top of your head. However, this might make your hair frizzy or more textured if it’s dry or coarse.

Faux hawkGive this long-haired look

a shot if you want a bold, voluminous style. Apply some matte gel or pomade in your hair so it’s easier to work with and so it holds its shape. Work your hair up and toward the middle of your head until it stands up on its own. Then, just use your hands to push your hair together until it has the shape of a mohawk. For a bolder style, work your hair into spikes or push the front of your style over your forehead to accentuate your natural waves.

Faux hawks look great and more defined when you pair them with a fade or undercut.

FringeCover your forehead with

medium-length hair for a messy look. Rub some anti-frizz oil or serum into your hair so your waves don’t get poofy later in the day. If you want your hair to look a little straighter, use a brush or comb to bring it toward the front of your head so your bangs hang over your forehead. For a messier, more natural look, just use your fingers instead.

• Fringes work well no matter your hair length, but longer hair might get in your eyes.

• If you want to accentuate your waves, wrap some

strands of hair tightly around your fingers to define the curls.

• If you want an asymmetrical look, keep your hair pushed to one side of your forehead and leave the rest natural.

QuiffSweep

medium or long hair up out of your face for a

casual style. Get your hair damp and work a

matte styling cream into it. Use your fingers

or a flat brush to bring the hair on top of your head forward toward your forehead to help control your waves. Then, brush your hair straight up and to one side of your head going away from your natural part to add some volume. To

Wash and condition your hair before you start styling so it stays

clean and healthy.

Experiment with different styles to see which one fits you the best.

Ask your barber for recommendations on styles since they’ll know what works best for

your hair’s texture and length.

When will Bihari become a businessman?

t is highly unlikely for a Icompetitive examination to be organized in the country,

in which the youth of Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa do not enthusiastically participate and register unprecedented success. Owing to their triumphant performance in these strenuous examinations, the youth of Bihari secure admissions in the country’s most prestigious colleges-universities or successfully bag rare government jobs. The sacrifices made on behalf of their parents and other family members are equally significant for determining the probability of their success. However, due to this, a sizeable chunk of Bihar’s image goes out of the state.

However, now the time has come for Bihari youth to think of alternatives, beyond the prospect of jobs as a career path, instead of simply settling. They have to emerge as entrepreneurs instead of subordinating anyone. They should become their boss and give employment to other

young individuals as well.Right now they are

employed in all kinds of jobs, such as government officials, teachers, engineers, architects, bankers, journalists, etc. In their assigned roles they are doing justice to their jobs and are brimming with knowledge and talent. They prosper and thrive, no matter where they go. But the truth is that somewhere deep down they are afraid or avoid becoming an entrepreneur. They do not have what it takes to undertake risks. That is not their fault. Since childhood, they have been fed at home and in society to land a stable, secure, and well-paying job. But, the youth of Bihar has to enter the world of business. The time has come to write a new script.

The reason to be surprised is that people in Bihar did not change even after economic liberalization. It has been thirty years since the winds of economic liberalization started blowing in the country. But Bihar has not been able to

experience the winds of development. There still exists the same mentality in society.

The people of Bihar and the society, in general, want their son or daughter to get a government job somehow. That is all they want. I cannot comprehend why the Bihari people, who are equipped with all the news and current trends of the whole world, are unable to understand that now the era of entrepreneurship is trending. If one has a fluttering idea, they can follow it and become someone as accomplished as N R Narayana Murthy (Infosys), Sachin-Binny Bansal (Flipkart), Shiv Nadar (HCL).

These tycoons emerged only after economic liberalization or rapid expansion of their businesses. All of them are first-generation entrepreneurs. They are now employing thousands of people. Sachin-Binny Bansal has earned thousands of crores of rupees by selling his company to Amazon. Now he is investing in new areas.

Industry watchers of Bihar know that only Anil Agarwal (Vedanta Group), Alkem Pharma, and Aristo Pharma have carved a niche for themselves in the decades that have passed through it. I want to politely say that the SIS group, established by me, has also become a key name in the service sector. It is probable for some more names to be added to this list.

All these groups of Bihar had started even before the era of economic liberalization. They started their business when there was Inspector Raj in the country. During that period, people had to wait for hours to get their work done in public offices. The government officials would not even agree to talk to you without paying a bribe.

But, where did Bihar or Bihari change even after economic liberalization? Biharis are still not ready to become entrepreneurs. They are still looking for only one secure job. If they get a government job, they are satisfied. Otherwise, anything with a pearl salary would work for them. They think that they can find a job where they can work for the rest of their life.

From there, they can retire by having a garland of sandalwood wrapped around their neck. Why are dozens of entrepreneurs like Bhavish Aggarwal of Ola Cabs, Deep Kalra of MakeMyTrip, Deependra Goyal of Zomato unable to inspire the youth of educated Bihari families? Biharis are taking their success with impunity. Inspired by them, they are not moving towards becoming an entrepreneur. The mindset of Biharis to do only a job cannot

be considered as very ideal thinking.

Producing a product by setting up a manufacturing unit is a Herculean task. There is always a need for huge capital. The youth of Bihar can also indulge in the service sector of Bihar. In this way, they can start their work from a small office. They have to start their work based on a unique idea and continue down that trail with honesty, hard work, and diligence. Once all these factors fall into place, success is bound to follow. One must chase their goals with a focused-unilateral vision.

It has been the grave misfortune of Bihar that the youth, neither think of becoming an entrepreneur nor do the renowned industrial houses plan to set up any of their units in Bihar. To date, no big group like Tata, Reliance, Mahindra, Goenka, Maruti has even considered it appropriate to invest in Bihar. When a big factory is established in a region, several small units are opened by the locals around it to deliver the goods.

Since none of the well-known groups established operations here, the people of Bihar lacked the opportunity and exposure to become entrepreneurs. Be it any city of the nation, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ludhiana; you can always find Biharis, employed in all kinds of jobs.

Out of these, even if ten percent of such Bihari youth starts working in Bihar, it will be far better for Bihar. That will lead to the overall development of the state and the strengthening of the entrepreneurial environment. The need of the hour is that the society of Bihar should think about doing something beyond just jobs.

Mosquito Menace Causing Concern In Navi Mumbai

avi Mumbai is Nconsidered number one in cleanliness and

we are trying hard to maintain the same status in the coming years as well. But of late, Navi Mumbai is facing a Mosquito menace and there are a number of Malaria and Dengue cases in the satellite city. The increase in mosquitoes is felt after the monsoon season and the citizens of Navi Mumbai struggle to keep Mosquitoes away during the evening time. It causes sleepless nights and the number of cases referred to hospitals is on the increase. It is a case of concern. Both Dengue and Malaria have been spreading in an epidemic form and has been scaring people for a long time. Preventing ourselves from these malarial parasites is of utmost importance. People suffer more due to late detection or self-medication. Now, a new fear of drug-resistant malaria is on its way to enter India so a need for awareness is necessary. It is time to work on basics and prevent stagnant water so that breeding of mosquitoes may not take place at this time of the year. Both children and the senior citizens suffer most due to mosquito menace.

There are five types of parasites, which cause malaria in humans, of which Plasmodium Falciparum is the most common and responsible for most deaths worldwide. Three species of human malaria parasites are found in India of which Vivax is the most predominant one. NMMC has taken the right approach in eradicating the disease from the grass root level by doing door to door surveys of water stagnation inside flats and other surroundings in housing societies. Even NMMC pasted big posters to create an awareness among the citizens of the satellite city. Let us co-operate with NMMC and keep the city neat and clean. After all, ' Health is Wealth ' and we protect the death of human beings by maintaining proper cleanliness at home and avoiding water stagnation in our surroundings to make sure that mosquitoes did not get a space to breed in our compound.

Malaria would have been a simpler problem if not for its

habit of recurring again and again. It is this problem which also keeps the disease alive in a community and makes its control quite difficult. It is time to take a broader outlook at what malaria and its effects on people affected in Navi Mumbai. Malaria parasites are members of the genus Plasmodium caused by P. falciparum, P.malariae, P. Ovale, P. Vivax and P. Knowlesi. P. Falciparum is the most common cause of the infection and is responsible for about 80% of all Malaria cases. Female mosquitoes are primary hosts and transmission vectors of malaria. Mosquitoes first ingest the parasite by feeding on an infected human. The infected mosquitoes then carry the parasites in their salivary glands and are then ready to infect a new human host.

Female Mosquitoes feed on blood while male mosquitoes feed on plant nectar thus, males do not transmit the disease. Building secretaries of the Multi-storied buildings in the satellite city should see to it that proper remedial measures are taken to control

menace of mosquitoes and that will definitely help in curbing Malaria cases in Navi Mumbai. Proper steps should be initiated to give useful fuming on alternate days initially and then have it once in a week or so. Stagnant water in society should not be permitted and the storm water in the drainage should not be stagnant to permit lava to form and become mosquitoes thereafter. Malaria menace can be totally avoided if the building societies apply a regular dose of repellents in the drainage system to kill them in the bud.

Some of the symptoms of malaria include fever, shivering, joint pain, vomiting, anemia, retinal damage and convulsions. The classic symptom of malaria is cyclical occurrence of sudden coldness followed by rigor, then fever and sitting lasting for a period of four to six hours, occurring every two days in P.Vivax and P. Ovale infections, while every three days P. Malariae. P. Falciparum can have recurrent fever every 36 hours or less and almost continuous fever.

Prevention is better than cure in case of malaria.

We hate to use the mosquito nets because it failed to give us freedom from free movement. When we hate the net, we hate mosquitoes as well. Moscreen mosquito preventing nets comes very handy as you can keep the sliding winds open but at the same time you cover it with a thin durable net which allows air to flow but at the same time stops mosquito menace. The net has frames and hence you can roll it as it is made of strong aluminum profiles. Specially developed spring loaded mechanism will help to smoothly roll the screen up and down with touch of your hand as per your requirement. It is a zero maintenance arrangement to prevent mosquito entry and you can clean the screen every time you roll it up. Further it provides a higher percentage of air and light transference. In fact from a distance of 8 to 10 ft. it is barely visible to the naked eye.

Moscreen is highly flexible and can be washed like any ordinary cloth. Since it is

made of fiberglass coated with protective vinyl and thermally welded at each mesh and it is non-combustible and non corrosive as well. Again, Moscreen can be installed with a variety of options on existing windows to suit your budget and get rid of all types of insects entering through your windows. Preventive measures such as use of mosquito repellents, drinking clean water and living in clean surroundings are advisable. Preventing malaria is much better than curing after getting affected by the disease, as there is a risk of recurrence and death is a possibility. Let us not play with our life with carefree attitude and NMMC should play a positive role in preventing the spread of malaria and dengue.

Megan Fox : I was horrified to Kiss

Megan Fox's Jennifer's Body is a special film to everyone involved. Although the movie wasn't exactly a success when it first came out the film's

cast and crew kept championing the movie for years. Eventually Jennifer's Body went on to amass a cult following

due to its relevant themes characterizations and performances from all involved.

The film's two stars Fox and Amanda Seyfried have spoken highly of the movie. And although they both have asserted that they had a good time making the film, there was one scene that the pair found a bit too horrifying even for a horror movie. And that involved the two actresses having to kiss.

The film's recent surge of popularity over the years has had the side-effect of helping young girls feel comfortable in their sexuality. On the surface Jennifer's body is a horror film. After a demon possesses the body of a popular cheerleader, she starts feasting on men's bodies. But underneath the surface, there's a love story involving Fox's character, Jennifer and her nerdy best friend

played by Amanda Seyfried.Fox has asserted that many young girls have found

inspiration in Fox and Seyfried's romantic subplot. “That's something that's so important to me, that I'm so proud of” Fox said. “If my purpose on Earth was to help one girl come out the closet and feel okay about it I had an amazing purpose here.” However it was difficult for both Fox and Seyfried to display that kind of relationship on screen. When it came time to kiss, the two admitted it was a moment that horrified them.

Varun Tej & Saiee Manjrekar at 'Ghani'

he teaser of Varun Tej's Tnew flick a boxing tale Ghani is out. We get the

first real glimpse into the actual content of Ghani, and it happened with a punchy voiceover delivered by Mega Powerstar Ram Charan. After introducing us to the various characters in the glimpses and other promotional content, the makers finally show us the real content. The whole thing looks slick and packed with artists.

The voice-over by Ram Charan highlights the theme with goes with the flow showcasing the lead character Ghani essayed by Varun Tej. And that is all we get apart from the glances at various characters and a touch non-boxing events. From what one could make out, the story arc

looks conventional for a sports drama. Boxing based tales are not new in Telugu, but they haven't come in the recent past, which adds to the freshness.

Varun Tej looks sharp and effective as the boxer. We have previously seen his work out from the title track video, and it is clear that a lot of effort has been put into it. The music by S Thaman shines as usual. The cinematography by George C Williams gives that grainy realistic tinge that suits the terrain perfectly. Saiee Manjrekar debuts as heroine in Telugu with Ghani. Jagapathi Babu, Upendra, Sunil Shetty, Naveen Chandra, Nadhiya and Naresh etc., play the supporting roles.
