The geocities one should work till the end of summer, but in the meantime I have created one at http://sites.google.com/site/susiecoolsongs/ Please give it a test ride, and see if I have left anything out.

I have also updated my YouTube site, http://www.youtube.com/user/SusieCool2001 adding a rather funny but extremely irreverent song. A comment I got from one of my listeners was "It's right up there with the Tissue Police". Hope you enjoy it. Again, feedback and comments are most welcome.

SusieCool and friends have also been building their repertoire of Oldies and goodies cover material, and have had some wonderful comments from concerts we have recently played. We are available to perform for retirement communities and parties. Just send me an e-mail!! [email protected] for your time. Have a great summer. Stay cool!!!

Donation will be requested for the artists. Fifteen dollars cheap.

Charley Groth has been playing since he was big enough to hold an instrument, and still plays tunes his Mother taught him. He has added a few more, and includes quite a collection of Texas Swing and related pieces.

Eddie Kavetsky has played every sort of music you can think of. He’s a perfectionist, polished like a fine pearl at early swing, light jazz, and has delighted many people with his trio, Jazzmin.

Chris Campbell uses a stand-up bass quite well, and also has a soft spot for the very best of Americana. The music loves him dearly, and it shows.

Charley, Eddie, and Chris will be the best pick-up band you’ve heard in years and years. The music is fast and intricate, and you will swear these guys have been playing together forever. They have. Not in the same time and place, of course, but their experience and love of their music will all come together on Saturday evening, October 24.

Opening set at seven o’clock will feature Will McLean award winner Sharon Osuna, and fingerstyle guitarist Barry Brogan. They cooperate on some vintage pieces (twenties and thirties) as well on Ms. Osuna’s originals.

Saturday October 24 (Saturday),   - Charley Groth at Fodor’s Grove Outdoor Stage .

>>Hi everyone - this is important and times is of the essence in maybe finding some of the items stolen.>>This just in from Paul Linser, St. Augustine

>Greetings,>>I am abusing my musical e-mail friends for a personal but related issue. Our home was burgled on Tuesday and quite a lot of stuff was stolen. But I would ask that you be on the alert for a few specific music-related items and those who might be offering them at "remarkable" pricing: My favorite guitar, the only one any of you have

5

ever seen me play, is gone. This is a Taylor model 414CE (spruce top) with Fishman electronics, serial number 990503045 (they failed to take the case so it is probably rattling around in the back of a truck getting beat to hell); Fender acoustic/electric mandolin (hollow body, f-holes)-, again they did not take the case; Two Makie C200 loudspeakers/monitors serial numbers 67948950 and 59921357; Ross 250 watt PA system power mixer (some of you may remember this from Bob Patterson's performances at the White Lion...sorry Bob!) A lot of other stuff went including our HD,flat-screen TV (40 " Samsung...I really loved my big-ass, brand-new TV..oh well), two computers (an HP lap top and a Dell desk top), printer scanner, and on and on. Among the most devastating losses were a lot of Barb's and my personal jewelry including Barb's mom's 70 year-old wedding ring and my gold wedding ring (wide band...looks like gold nugget). Also they took our digital camera (FujiFilm S700) which still held two-thirds of our pictures from our trip two weeks ago to Florence and Venice (I did download Rome to my lap top but Florence and Venice memories now rely on our foggy old brains).

They even got the hand made leather satchel that we purchased for our daughter Katie in Florence so no present for her! Such is life and I truly regret that there are people whose lives are so desperate that they need to resort to such actions. No one was hurt (even my dog) so life goes on. To the thieves I say, I hope that you don't ever have to invade someone's home again and that it never happens to you either.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Re. Gamble Rogers Folk Festival

The Gamble Rogers Folk Festival is excited to announce its decision to move to downtown St. Augustine in 2010.

The Festival, now in its 15th year, commemorates the life and performing art of national star and local hero James

Gamble Rogers.

For 12 years the festival was housed at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre followed by a 2 year residence at the St.

Johns County Fairgrounds. This year the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival has teamed up with the St. Johns County Cultural

Events Division and the City of St. Augustine to produce the event in a unique new format. From Friday, April 30 to

Sunday, May 2, 2010, downtown St. Augustine will be immersed in the sights and sounds of folk, dancing, storytelling,

and bluegrass.

“The beauty and charm of historic St. Augustine will be the perfect backdrop for this event, bringing the spirit of

Gamble Rogers to life with a selection of intimate performance spaces,” said Paul Linser, festival president. Venues

6

include the Government House, the De Mesa Yard, Mill Top Tavern, Tradewinds Tropical Lounge, the Lightner Museum

Pool, Flagler College Auditorium, and more.

Headliners will be announced at the festival benefit concert on November 14 th at Flagler Auditorium and tickets

will go on sale Friday, December 4, 2009. The festival line-up will include Grammy award winners, major motions picture

actors/songwriters, folk and bluegrass legends, local talent and up and coming artists.

The greatest benefit in the change of location will be the impact the festival will have on downtown merchants,

restaurants, and hotels located in the area. This is the first festival of its kind in St. Augustine and will position the event

for long term growth in conjunction with the 450th Anniversary of St. Augustine. Mark your calendars for an event that

will indeed be truly remarkable. For more information, visit the festival web site www.gamblerogersfest.org or contact

the festival board at [email protected]

OPEN MICS AND JAMS :

I’m happy to announce that we have found a new home for Irish music in Eustis! We’ll be holding the Second Sunday Session at Olivia’s Coffeehouse, 113 N. Bay Street in downtown Eustis 3:00 to 6:00 PM. The session format will emphasize singing more than tunes, with at least 50% songs.

We’ll be having our Second Sunday Session at Olivia’s this Sun., Oct. 11.  Since Eustis is having the Lake County Folk Festival this weekend, we’ll be following the last act at Olivia’s and start the session around 4:30 PM, going to 7:30 PM.

Olivia’s is a cozy space with bar, tables, and comfortable sofas and easy chairs.  They serve wraps, soups, sandwiches, salads and snacks, in addition to wine and beer, including Guinness!  They also serve gourmet coffees and teas. I hope you’ll support this celebration of Irish music in Eustis!  Cathy Benton 352-589-4754

Florida Steel Guitar Club: Meetings are held at Catfish Johnny's Restaurant, Lake Panasoffkee, Fl, our Club home.Come and join us for the next Monthly meeting. There are no Club Membership Fees or Jam Admission Fees, it's all FREE Our current jam format is for the Steelers to do solo songs.  Please keep solos to a reasonable time limit.  Do not play the song 3 or 4 times and please remember this is a Steel Guitar Jam, not an "open mike" jam for singers.

Catfish Johnny is providing the free space for the meeting/jam, and it is in our best interest to also patronize his restaurant. Although his Restaurant primarily has a fish/seafood menu, it does have steak, chicken, burgers, etc.

There are some good new jams going on. If you haven't heard about the first Friday in Ormond at The Bookstore let me know, and I'll forward you to their list. Also, there is an outdoor gospel open mic starting up in the Ocala/Altoona area in March. If you are interested let me know and I'll forward you to their list.

We have a new venue in town, in case you didn't know! Bay Street Coffee!!! Steve is a musician and will be at our open mic and will be providing us with his wonderful coffee, so be sure you come out to meet him and appreciate both his coffee and his music. He certainly opened  in the right town, because he is starting an open mic on Thursday evenings, starting tomorrow unless I'm mistaken. Bay Street Coffee is on Bay Street (duh!) in the small strip mall next to the Habitat for Humanity Thrift Store. I don't know the address, but you can email him at [email protected] with questions. It's a very small venue, and I asked him these questions: "When do you want to start your open mic? Will you have microphones and amplification or all acoustic? How many mics if you will have? What time? Do you have food and drinks other than coffee?" Here are his answers: " we will have a mike well we can do three mik es in our mini mixer but all acoustic works good too well this is a very very small venue .........starts at 6:00 and we have del@i sandwiches pre made we have Iced tea and coke sprite rootbeer orange crush water bottles donuts bagles ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  and all kinds of coffee." If you need me, don't rely on email. Call me at 352-406-0429 or Steve at 352-408-3556.See ya Saturday!Steve & Kathy Waters======================================================================================

From Starbird – Val and Jay: Potential open mic at Zellie’s Pub, Mt. Dora.

I am waiting for word from David Brooks who is making headway solidifying a weekly----then one big monthly open mic utilizing a stage they would construct in the back of the pub. Success for this would be made possible by former participants of 3rd Place and would encompass folk and light pop music----Zellie's Pub is located on 19A as you head into Mt. Dora---on the right-----winter and inclement weather would bring it indoors----as soon as I hear anything will let you know-----Val and Jay

Check out the "Alive At Five" thing - apparently it's every Second Thursday of each month in the downtown area in Sanford (they block off the streets and have a variety of food vendors, music, etc. and the shops stay open, etc. - we had a great time and will likely go back - they have a different "theme" for each month and (optional) you can buy a wristband for $5 which gets you free munchies and samples of food from the various vendors and a couple of beer/wine tokens, etc. - pretty good deal and parking was no problem - here's the link if you want to get on the "notification" list to be kept up to date as to what's happening there for events:  http://sanfordinfo.com/component/option,com_comprofiler/Itemid,0/task,registers/
