In a significant scaling up of our annual Senior Volunteer Week, RSVP Singapore in partnership with Ministry of Health is organising a National Senior Volunteer Month (NSVM) in September 2015. The theme for NSVM2015 - “Senior Volunteerism – Soaring to Greater Heights in serving the Community” - reflects the immense value of seniors to the community.

Join us in this national movement dedicated to promoting Senior Volunteerism and encouraging seniors to come forth and volunteer meaningfully to help and serve the less privileged in society.

6. Calling Senior Volunteers to leave a Legacy (Guided Autobiography)

Volunteers are invited to write a book about yourself. You will be guided through the process. As this is all about volunteering, we are inviting: Volunteers to pen short stories about themselves; volunteers to help non-IT-savvy contributors enter their stories into computers; volunteers to edit the works; and volunteers to help with the printing of the books for exhibition during the opening of NSVM 2015.

13. Party for rehabilitating mental patients at Octaves in June

Befriend and entertain rehabilitating mental patients at the party. Volunteers are expected to help in the logistics of the party such as serving of food and distribution of gifts.

17. Volunteers to spend a day with Children of Inmates

Volunteers will organize and lead a field trip for 40 children, whose parent/ or parents are in prison, to a place of interest e.g. Bukit Chandu. As these children are likely to be deprived of such activities, the volunteers will show care and concern by bringing joy to their lives and at the same time, impart knowledge of Singapore's history.
