February 4 - Fantastic February Canoe Float12:00 PM to 4:00 PM Let’s explore the lower Colorado and attempt to get an up close look at the various inhabitants of this desert sanctuary. Bring your binoculars and a lunch. This is a special 4 hour float which puts in at the “Bruce Church” access. $30 per person. Ages 6 and up welcome, parents/guardian must stay with children under 16. The Boscoe France Band, a slide guitar blues band from Kentucky, Boscoe took top prize in the 2012 National Guitar Center King of the Blues Challenge.

The Gino Matteo Band featuring Jade Bennett, a roots-music band from Southern California, Matteo has worked with artists such as B.B. King, John Mayer, John Fogerty, and Buddy Guy.

The McCoy Brothers Band, originally formed in 2012, are musicians and friends from the San Diego area with a unique blend of songwriting and musical backgrounds

March 17-18 - Pasquinelli Shamrock OpenThis is a two-day, 18-hole golf extravaganza, starting with a par 3 alternate shot format on Friday afternoon with an appetizer social, then a best-ball format Saturday morning, followed by an awards luncheon. There will be a putting contest, skins competition, hole in one prizes and a terrific raffle! All players receive a Tournament shirt, hat, and great food on both days. March 17-18 – Yuma Twilight Air Show9:00 AM to 8:00 PMThe Yuma Airshow is returning March 17 & 18, 2017 with a full roster of exciting displays and plans to break a Guinness World Record. Since 1962, this annual celebration of aviation has been a hallmark event for both MCAS Yuma and the City of Yuma. This year, the Yuma Airshow will feature both military and civilian demonstrations, including an F-35B demonstration, the Patriots Jet Team, the Misty Blues All Women Skydiving Team, and the famous Wall of Fire, which is planned to break a Guinness World Record. The Yuma Airshow attracts visitors from across the nation and the globe, drawing crowds of more than 35,000 spectators. Partnership with the community is central to the airshow, bringing together local and national business to help ensure that all guests enjoy the best quality event possible. As one of the largest outdoor sporting events in North America, airshows represent a significant marketing and sponsorship opportunity for local and national businesses.The contributions from our sponsors and patrons go towards supporting the Marines and families aboard Marine Corps Air Station Yuma and providing quality of life programs.

April 15 - Jumpstart Saturday10:00 AM to 3:00 PMJumpstart Saturday is a new program at Arizona Western College that allows prospective students the opportunity to complete their pre-enrollment tasks during a time that is convenient. Not everyone can get out to the campus during the work week, and students often want parents to accompany them. Therefore, AWC will have one Saturday per month from January to April, where they will have limited services available to prepare students for the next registration cycle.During Jumpstart Saturday students will be able to:

Complete an Application for Admission Complete Placement Testing Submit the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid Submit any required enrollment documents Take care of any prior registration holds Sign up for New Student Orientation

AWC staff and student ambassadors will be available to assist students with each of these steps. Completion of these steps will ensure students are ready to register on time for summer of fall 2017 classes when registration begins this spring.All sessions are open from 10am-3pm in the Frances Morris Board Room in the 3C building at the Yuma Campus. Students and parents can drop in anytime between these hours, but are encouraged to arrive with enough time to complete placement testing, if necessary. No testing will be started after 2:00pm.Students should bring:

authorization, permanent resident card, military ID card, or birth certificate)
