Identifying Your Heater

The model of your heater can be identified on the data plate attached to one of the heater panels.

The serial number will identify the age using the chart below.

1) The serial number has 2 Middle Letters (i.e. H20GE002)

1st Middle Letter = Year 2nd Middle Letter = Month

1984 - Z 1995 - L January - M Example: Serial No. H20GE0021985 - Y 1996 - K February - L1986 - X 1997 - J March - K The two middle letters are G & E1987 - W 1998 - H April - J1988 - V 1999 - G May - H This would make the date of1989 - T 2000 - F June - G manufacture AUGUST 19991990 - S 2001 - E July - F1991 - R 2002 - D August - E1992 - P 2003 - C September - D1993 - N 2004 - B October - C1994 – M 2005 - A November - B

December - A

2) The serial number has 2 numbers and a Middle Letter (i.e. H2014E002)

2 Numbers = Year Middle Letter = Month

06 - 2006 January - A Example: Serial No. H2014E00207 - 2007 February - B08 - 2008 March - C The Middle figures are 14 & E09 - 2009 April - D10 - 2010 May - E This would make the date of11 - 2011 June - F manufacture MAY 201412 - 2012 July - GEtc.. August - H

1) Remove and discard the cable between the Honeywell stat and the control panel.

2) Remove and discard the cable between the burner and the control panel.

3) Remove and discard the cable between the main fan and the control panel.

4) Remove any control cables and power cables from the control panel.

5) The control panel can now be removed from the heater and discarded.

6) Fit the new control panel onto the same panel that the burner and the Honeywell stat are fitted to, position it in the opposite corner to the Honeywell stat. Drill 4 x 3mm holes for each corner, do this by using the template provided.

7) Fit the control panel using the screws and spacers provided.

8) Remove the old Honeywell stat and replace with the new. If the original stat is not a Honeywell then refer to the Stat Position diagram and drill a 28mm hole in the correct location.

Final Steps

1. Make sure you have followed the wiring diagram and double check all connections.

2. Pull the white button on the Honeywell fan/limit stat outward so the Fan circuit is in the Automatic mode.

3. Check that the brass link between the lower fan and limit connections of the Honeywell fan/limit stat has been removed.

4. Re-apply the power.

5. Initially the high limit interlock relay will need to be reset as indicated by the indicator on the new button that was installed. Please note that every time power is lost to the unit the high limit interlock relay will need to be reset.

6. Set the temperature pins on the Honeywell fan/limit stat to 86°, 122° & 194° respectively. Note these are in Fahrenheit not Centigrade. The equivalent values are 30°C, 50°C & 90°C.

7. Start the heater and make sure the main fan starts when the middle pin (set to 122°) passes the temperature indicating arrow. Carefully rotate the centre dial of the Honeywell stat until the high limit pin (set at 194°) passes the temperature indicating arrow, this should stop the burner and illuminate the limit reset button. Release the centre dial and wait for the unit to cool, the main fan will stop when the temperature falls below the first pin (set to 86°).

8. Push the limit reset button to reset the interlock relay. The heater can now be left to operate normally.
