Maggie has asked that we get the Viewfinder back on track as the timeline went out somewhat when I was overseas in December and we have since, in theory, been running a month behind. Therefore the front cover this month is a tribute to other great pho-tographers out there. This weeks cover is thanks to many different Amazing photogra-phers and the collages below were extracted from the Shutterstock website in order to inspire all of us to go forth and produce amazing images.

It is a Sunday night & I am sitting in my lounge writing this by candle-light. Yes, it’s “load shedding time”. I have East Coast Radio for company. Thank goodness for battery operated appliances. A chill has crept into the air during the early mornings and the evenings. O’ Sol is getting out of bed later too. YAY!!!!!! I am not exactly an early bird. Prefer being a night owl. What a magic portraiture evening recently had with Mercia and Ben. Two pretty models, Jodie & Havanah. Thank you both very much. There was a good turnout from members. We packed up at 9/30pm as it was scheduled to leave us in the dark from 100/00. Thank you, everyone, for assisting in packing up. The KZN Regional Congress is on the cards and will be held at the German Club in Westville on Saturday 27

th July, start-

ing at 2/00 in the afternoon and finishing about 10/00. Dinner will be served and a cash bar is available. Cost per person is R100.00. In case of load shedding, a generator will be avail-able. By the time you read this the booking form would’ve been sent to everyone. The results of the KZN Interclub Competition will be screened at this function. The nomination sheet for the new 2015/2016 committee will be available from the 1

st meeting in May. Please speak to

people before nominating them. The AGM will be held on the 18

th June starting 7/30pm

The closing date for the Versatility Competition looms ahead. You have until the 31

st of May to get your master-

pieces submitted. One image per subject. There is a trophy up for grabs. As this is a non-promotional competition, you can enter these images into the monthly competitions. Till next month, Keeeeeeep clicking!!!!! Maggie

Old laptop and projector The old Club laptop and projector are to be put out to tender, as is (voetstoets), to the highest bidder. Interested parties are to place their bid on a piece of paper with their name and signature, in a sealed envelope amd handed to Maggie. Cut off date is on the 18th June 2015. Bids are to be in before the start of the AGM on the 18th. The laptop does have problems with opening and closing. It requires power at all times as the battery does not work. No bag is included. The projector has a problem with colour calibration. AGM – 18th June 2015 Although there are still 2 months to the AGM, please start giving thought to who you would like to serve on the 2015/2016 committee, Ask people first if they would like to stand for nomination. This gives them time to think about it. If you want anything to be discussed at the AGM, please submit in writing by the 1st meeting in May. Please hand to Mercia. Outings Outings, in future are to be entered via Photovault which will close on the Sunday before the 2nd monthly meeting. Please ensure that the correct images are submit-ted. At the moment there is a 2 month gap between the outing and the screening date. Your committee has changed this to a 1 month gap. To get the club in line for this change please note the following: Closing date 17th May – images from the Stainbank (February) and Brighton Beach (March) outings. Closing date 14

th June – images from the Stonehaven/Botha’s Hill (April) and Croc-

world (May) outings. Closing date 12th July – images from the June outing. Venue TBA Club meetings A special request from your committee At club meetings, when there is either a judge or guest speaker, the members are asked if there are any questions. Please ask your questions as this time and not wait until everything is being packed away at the end of the evening. Asking your questions in the allocated time will benefit everyone present. Thanks. At our 2nd meeting in May we will be holding a workshop where everyone is asked to bring their laptop. If you don’t have a laptop, please let Maggie know by the end of April so that arrangements can be made to have a few spare laptops available. Next question – does everyone have either Photoshop or Elements on their lap-tops? If not, please contact Wendy to make arrangements to go to her home for her to download onto your laptop. Please don’t leave this to the last minute.

Highway/Bluff challenge Please don’t forget our challenge with Highway CC on the subject of “Shadows”. The work must be current – taken as from October last year. Re-member than you can enter 1 extra image under this subject each month. Versatility competition This competition closes at the end of May. As this is a non-promotional com-petition, it means that you may enter any of the images into the monthly com-petitions.

PSSA KZN Regional Interclub It is that time of year again when we will be entering the National & Regional Interclub Competitions. Sonia is opening Photovault under the heading of Interclub Competition un-der two sections - Open & Nature. Anything that does not fit under Nature may be entered under the Open section (PJ, Abstract etc included into this section). Monochrome images may be entered as well as colour, Work that has been entered at club between August 2014 and the current month (May 2015) qualifies. Closing date is 11.59 on Saturday 9th May 2015.
