Synopsis:“Shams,” the unbeatable fierce career woman, during her annual check-up she realizes that her egg count is not in her favor and soon giving birth will not be an option on the table. Not ready to be touched by a man, she decided to go for a fake marriage through an open call for sperm donors in return of a hefty sum and an agreement on her conditions, of course!“Bahgat,” the vet in need and the one who meets all Shams’s requirements, decides to take her stiff attitude with a grain of salt to get the money, but his biggest problem is how to hide this fake marriage from “Sally,” the woman he is physically infatuated with. How will the relationship with this odd arrangement unfolds?!

Film Background:Bashtery Ragel/ Sugar Mummy is one of 4 scripts developed in the first round of Birthmark Scenario; a script development workshop for feature length films in Arabic language. The first and launch phase of Birthmark Scenario was held in 2016 over the period of 6 months under the supervision of a professional screenwriter and producer.

About Birthmark Scenario:Birthmark Scenario workshop launched its initial phase on February 2016, with 7 writers were selected of 120 according to fixed standards put by the workshop organizers and the workshop is setting for its second phase now. The workshop functions in a group format; where The workshop was led by Egyptian screenwriter Wael Hamdy and film producer Dina Harb, aiming mainly to provide beginning screenwriters with needed skills to develop their projects into full scripts and to market and sell them to producers. In addition to training and developing sessions held during weekly meetings, industry professionals, such as writers, directors, producers and distributors were hosted to discuss the writer’s process and progress plans, amongst them the producer Ahmed El Sharkawy, The Writers Mariam Naoum, Tamer Habib, Beshir Eldik, Amr Samir, and more. Results of the workshop’s first phase are Full 4 scripts ready to be produced, one of them is ready to be screened, which is “Bashtery Ragel” and participation in a small and intensive other workshop entitled Pitch Your Film, which took place on two days within the activities of 4th Cairo Film Connection on the sidelines of 2016 Cairo International Film Festival, where the participants attending interactive sessions with film industry experts to be provided with needed skills to sell and market their films to producers and the workshop ended up with a real pitching with producers to provide the writers with a chance to sell their own films.

Dina Harb | CREATIVE PRODUCERFilm producer DINA HARB is the founder and managing partner of Birthmark Films, a production company based in Egypt. Harb is currently producing the first feature from Birthmark Scenario workshop as well as being a creative producer and script doctor on a number of projects.Harb is the co-producer of Yallah! Underground (2015, 80mins); a documentary about the underground art scene in the Middle East that won the Best Documentary at Hessian Film Festival in Frankfurt, Germany. Harb also served as associate producer of Words of Witness (2012, 70min), an award-winning documentary about a young Egyptian journalist covering the Egyptian revolution. She has also served as the Egypt based producer for the Indian production Mishawr Rawhoshyo (2013, 135min). Additionally, she produced a number of short films.Harb’s background is project management and strategy in the field of marketing, communications and advertising. Her wide range of clients included Master Foods, Heineken and NSGB, to name a few. Harb has also produced more than 80 commercials for international clients such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, Nokia, CNN, Olympic

Electric, Qatar National Bank, Danone and Danette. Harb holds an MFA degree in Creative Producing from Columbia University in New York.

Enas Lotfy | SCREENWRITERENAS LOTFY is a screenwriter, blogger, voice actress and a theater narrator. She is currently working on developing her first feature screenplay with Birthmark Scenario Workshop. Additionally, she has her own blog “I need to talk” أتكلم addressing عايزةEgyptian women issues.Lotfy participates in many writing workshops for short and feature length narratives. One of which is “A Stone Heart” حجر لعنة ”which is based on a short story “Love curse ,قلب .also written by her الحبShe led a writing workshop of a radio series for children, “Candy Land” الفوندام ,أرضwhich was broadcast on FM radio station in 2015 in which she contributed as a voice actress as well. She has also led writing workshops titled “Yoga Writing”, a combination of writing and meditation.Lotfy’s writing experience also extends to the theater. She participated with a number of playwriting groups, one of which is “I’m the Story” and “A Print of Feminist Storytelling” under the leadership of Dr. Sahar El-Mougy. In addition to joining drama therapy and oppressed theater groups.Additionally, Lotfy worked in De-CAF festival with the French directors; “Fanny De Chaille” and “Pascal Rambert.”Lotfy had Bachelor of Commerce from Cairo University.

Mohamed Ali | DIRECTORDirector MOHAMED ALY is a well established film and television director. He is currently working on a new 2017 Ramadan series after the release of the romcom “Bashtery Ragel.”Aly helmed two feature length film at the beginning of his career as a director; “El Awella Fi El Gharam” in 2006 starring Menna Shalabi, followed by “Leabet El Hob” in 2007. Then on, he focused on TV drama; his most recent is 2015 ramadan TV series “Mariam” starring Hifaa Wahby, but he directed “Pharoah” starring Khaled Saleh and “Horoub” starring Karim Abdel Aziz. However, his directorial debut was the TV series “Ahl Cairo.”Aly also worked as showrunner on a radio series “Ayam El Hob Wa Algonoon” with Mohamed Ramadan.Mohamed Aly started his career as an assistant director at Misr International Films with Yousef Shahin after his graduation from the Higher Institute of Cinema.

Amir Hedayah | COMPOSERAmir Samy Hedayah is a music composer, arranger, and performer, active in Egypt’s film, television, and music industries. In his youth, he studied piano and guitar at Conservatoire de Musique D'Alexandrie (Alexandria, Egypt). Yet, his informal training came much earlier, as the child of a musical family, so he quickly became enamored by the world of music. In order to expand his career and collaborate on more ambitious projects, at the age of 16 Hedayah moved from Alexandria to Cairo and began attending Helwan University's Faculty of Music Education.

Today Amir Hedayah has composed multiple scores for various local and international films, tv shows, programs,commercials, games, channel idents, and many other independent projects as well as his arrangements for songs.In 2013 he won the best music award for film “El Watar” with Mohamed Medhat at the Cairo National Festival for Egyptian Cinema. In 2015, he was picked as one of the top 10 winners worldwide at the most challenging international film music competition (Oticons Faculty Film Music Competition).In 2016, he scored the launching film for "Artella" which is today the greatest virtual studio platform in the world. Later in 2016, he scored the short film "Duel" which was rated by IAMAG as one the best 10 animated shorts in 2016.Currently Amir Hedayah is scoring a new short animation titled "Thistle One" Directed by Bobby Beck from Pixar animation studios, and the founder of Animation Mentor and Artella.

Disco Misr | FILM SONGDisco Masr is the first Egyptian DJ Band specialized in fusion music. The bands remixes are their innovative way in arranging nostalgic heritage songs with electro and house music. The band’s first cinematic experience is the romcom Bashtery Ragel, where the band featured a mawal/ song from Egyptian heritage called “3ala Wara2 El Fol” performed previously by a number of artists like Gamalat Shiha, Fatma Sarhan and even recently by Dina El Wadidi.Disco Masr worked recently on the rearrangement for Soad

Masy’s song, entitled Mouga in 2016. They also made a remix using coined موجة phrases in the Egyptian cinema history. Additionally, they did a fusion of a song from Film Thaqafy ثقافي الغرام another for Saqany El Gharam , فيلم an arrangement ,سقانيand remix to والد يا جه ,with Juhaina, a remix to the music of Egyptian film, Africano أهوand the last project they have worked on is Talaat Zein’s song تعالى. The real beginning of Disco Masr, which consists of Amr Emad and Mostafa El-Sherif, was in 2015 with rearrangement of Vola Vola song and Ramadan Gana جانا with رمضانRed Bull, and Shamousa شموسة.
