Application for Financial Aid Wall College of Business Board of Visitors International Programs Scholarship, 2013 – 2014 Deadline for Application: November 1, 2013 I. Purpose of the Scholarship: This scholarship is established beginning in Spring 2007 for distribution in the amount of up to $2,000 per student to participate in study abroad opportunities sponsored and/or organized through the Wall College of Business. A maximum of $6,000 will be available for this program for the 2013 - 2014 academic year through the Wall Board of Visitors. Additional funds may be available through other sources. Minority students are encouraged to apply. II. Criteria for the Financial Award: To qualify for the award, the recipient must: (1) be a Coastal Carolina University student in good academic standing with at least a 2.5 GPA; (2) be registered for and participating in any of the Wall College of Business study abroad programs for the upcoming Spring, May, Summer or Fall Programs; (3) submit a word processed essay (no longer than 500 words) in which he or she does each of the following: (a) articulates how participation in the respective course/program relates to his or her academic and social growth; and (b) describes the citizenship behaviors that will make him or her an outstanding representative of himself or herself, Coastal Carolina University, and the United States on this prestigious scholarship. Awarding of the scholarship will be done based on the recommendations of a committee composed of the Assistant Dean for International Programs and the Dean of the College of Business, based on responses provided in the essay, academic standing, and financial need. In the case of exceptional service to the Wall College of Business, the requirement for financial aid may be waived. Final award granting will be done by the University Scholarship Committee, based on the criteria above and the recommendations of the Assistant Dean for International Programs and the Dean of the College of Business.
