Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 - 30th DecemberFly Vienna and Private Transfer to hotel, Fiaker Tour

On arrival your driver will be waiting at Vienna Airport to transfer you to your chosen hotel for you to start your Vienna short break over NewYears Eve.

This afternoon take a Fiaker horse and carriage for a ride through Vienna’s old town streets and discover the city’s most important sights.Pass by Saint Stephens cathedral, the Hofburg Imperial palace and the attractions of the Ring boulevard.

Day 2 - 31st December Silvester Trail Festivities, New Years Eve on the MajesticImperial Train

On December 31, Vienna’s old city center around the City Hall Square, Stephansplatz and the Prater transforms from @ 2 p.m. in theafternoon to 2 a.m. along what is called the Silvester Trail. Along this New Year’s Path, dozens of gastronomes serve punch and culinarytreats, and there will be a range of entertainment which could be humorous, show waltzes, an operetta, rock, pop and folk music, and aclassical area on Graben.

Every year it changes so one never knows what to expect, but we would recommend a wander around to see what is happening !

A private transfer will take you to the start of the train journey and your evening. Toast the New Year as you travel back on an Imperialjourney capturing the grandeur of the Habsburg era aboard the Majestic Imperial Train.

Spend New Year being taken through the Vienna night enjoying a gourmet dinner. At midnight stop on one of the bridges spanning theDanube, where you can marvel at the excellent view and magnificent firework display. Afterwards join in a midnight waltz high above theDanube to the familiar ring of Strauss Blue Danube.

There will be live music in the piano bar until the arrival of the train at Viennas train station at about 2.15 am. Overnight in Vienna

Half Day City Tour including Schönbrunn Palace

Schönbrunn, the former summer residence of the imperial family is considered one of the most beautiful of the baroquepalaces in Europe. At the Kursalon, Johann Strauss himself used to direct his orchestra from his position as first violin.

Here, the essence of Vienna’s Classical music can still be enjoyed today. The Salonorchester “Alt Wien” one of the best known interpreters ofclassical Viennese music, offers an evening full of Viennese charm – with the beautiful sound of waltzes, polkas, arias and duets, as well asoperetta and piano concerto melodies.

Accompanied by excellent opera vocalists and enchanting ballet soloists, Viennas classical music reveals itself as a firework for all senses.

Vienna Hofburg Orchestra Performance on 1st Jan

On January 1st the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra celebrates the New Year with their guests in the magnificent Gartenpalais Liechtenstein.Previous concerts showcased the most popular waltz and operetta pieces by Johann Strauss, Emmerich Kalman, and Franz Lehar, as wellas opera aries and duets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. These spectacular concerts are performed by our professional musicians andinternational vocal soloists.

Ring in the New Year and enjoy the Hofburg Orchestra playing “Die Fledermaus Overture”, “The Blue Danube”, and the “Radetzky March”,as well as music from “The Magic Flute”, and “The Merry Widow”.

No photos of previous concert available as normally this concert is in the Hofburg but cannot be for the next couple of years as part of theGovernment has moved in whilst the Parliament is repaired, so instead it has been moved to this private palace.
