Born in 1949 in Canada, Victor Ostrovsky moved to Israel at the age of five. His inclination for the arts was apparent from a very early age. The well known Israeli painter, Giladi, lived on the same street and would often set up his easel outdoors to paint. Victor would watch, spellbound, on his way to and from school as Giladi created wonderful images on the blank canvas. Eventually, the artist presented Victor with his own box of oil paints and took the time to guide him into a world where expressions come through images and color, handing the child a gift that would soon become a passion.

Né en 1949 au Canada, Victor Ostrovsky a émigré en Israël à l'âge de cinq ans. Son penchant pour les arts était évident à partir d'un âge très précoce. Le peintre bien connu israélienne, Giladi, a vécu dans la même rue et serait souvent mis en place à l'extérieur de ses chevalet pour peindre. Victor regardait, fasciné, sur le chemin de l'école et que Giladi créé de splendides images sur la toile vierge. Finalement, l'artiste a présenté Victor avec sa propre boîte de peintures à l'huile et a pris le temps de le guider dans un monde où les expressions viennent à travers des images et des couleurs, la remise de l'enfant un cadeau qui allait bientôt devenir une passion.
