Assumed here is fixed boundary condition with PSD curve applied hereBasically, it is assumed the shipping frame is “very rigid”, whatever the road disturbance will be directly transmitted to the WRI.

The vibration assessment Part 2

• The APA frame as shown in the previous slide with 2 locations supported. Each location has 3 WRI with total of 6.

• The WRI (M16-350-08) is modeled 3 springs as Kx,Ky (shear/roll) and Kz (normal).

Conclusion/Comments

1) The result indicates that that the stress difference is about 40%~50% between AIR Ride and without AIR ride for the combination of the static and random vibration. For the dynamics response only, the difference will be even high due to the offset of static load.

2) The comparison of PSD curve shows that there are several magnitude difference between Air Ride and without Air Ride. It seems very effectively to reduce G^2/Hz around the frequency range of 10-70 Hz where mostly APA and its lifting frame is oscillated at its natural frequency.

3) Therefore, truck air ride is highly recommended to reduce the stress and any other complication (wire tension loosening or …)
